Scripture: Matthew 28 v 18 - 20: "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
There is no such thing as a weak Christian! When you have been born again and baptized by the Holy Spirit, you have received power! Not the worldly sort of power which gives you control over people and easily leads to corruption. But the same power and authority Jesus had when He lived as a man here on Earth.
In Colossians it says that Jesus Christ created all things. ALL things. The Sun, Moon, stars, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, trees, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, animals, birds, fish and us humans. He is the Author and Finisher of our Faith. He is Alpha and Omega. There has never been anyone to compare with Him, He is altogether lovely.
He had power to create life and destroy death; power to heal every known disease; power to drive demons out of those oppressed or possessed by them and see instant miraculous change in them. He had power over the elements and could walk on water as well as change water into wine. He could feed 5000 by multiplying a few loaves and some fish with 12 large baskets of scraps left over.
After His resurrection He could walk through walls, appear and vanish at will. Jesus showed His disciples the holes in His hands, feet and side to prove He was not some fake. Brothers and sisters, He gave this power and authority to us to use as He did so we could continue to set the captives free.
This world is a demonic war zone and we are the army of God who must fight the battles to win the war. We have the power, weapons, know-how, and presence of Jesus to overcome every demon, every sickness, every financial crisis or fear, but we don't seem to realise who we really are. The world is full of people who are hostages to sin and corruption. We have the keys to unlock their prison doors.
Luke 9 v 54 - 56: "And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village."
The world hates us because we are not like them. We look the same but the death and resurrection of Jesus changed every new believer into a new creation. A completely new being filled with love, peace, joy, grace, righteousness and light. Our dead spirits are born again and alive.
We glow in the darkness of this world. The darker the hearts of those around us, the brighter we shine. It is because Jesus and the same Spirit that raised Him from death dwells in us. The glorious resurrection power of Jesus.
They hate this light with a passion. It is the light of Jesus and it shines like a laser beam into their souls and exposes their very secret sins. It's easier to shun this light than confess and repent. It's easier to cast that holy person out of their presence than to give accountability for grave mistakes. Pride is at the heart of it. Not willing to be shamefully exposed.
Jesus never said we would be free of hardship and troubles, but that He would deliver us out of them. People think that Jesus must be strong enough to protect from every unpleasantness, sadness, calamity, disaster or battle. Of course He is, but He had to first show us how its done and then give us the power to do it ourselves. We must overcome Satan in our lives and in this world.
It is an ongoing, continuous fight that we must be hands on involved with. We need to pray without ceasing, love without response, and win through for the lost and the outcasts. We need to be alert to the invisible spirits that attack us night and day. Most people are unaware of these evil demons, don't even believe they exist, and the demons like it like that.
The demons knew Jesus very well. They challenged Him saying, Are You come to send us to Hell before the time? They knew His power, and that He would send them to Hell. This is real and no myth. They knew there was a set time for them to go to Hell. It was after His death. Jesus has given us the power to deal with demons and send them to Hell. They are subject to us. They have to obey us. If we would all shake off traditional Churchianity and get real with Jesus, we would have this planet sorted in one month.
If Jesus is our Creator - and He truly is - then we are also able to be creative. Our greatest blessing is to bring the knowledge of Jesus to the lost. A born again soul is alive and our love and commitment to Jesus brings life to those who were dead in sin. Death is when we are separated from God. The Bible calls Hell the Second Death. Eternal separation from the Father. What would we not do to bring everyone we know to life and save them from Hell?
Every seed we sow into their lives, God will water and bless those seeds. He does not want to lose one soul but He is adamant that Heaven is for the righteous believers only. We must know Jesus and He must know us. When it really matters its Who you know!
Prayer: Declare this aloud as often as needed:
Through the Blood of Jesus every sin is forgiven and I am born again. Through the Blood of Jesus Satan has no power over me and no place in me. Every demon is bound and sent to Hell. Through the Blood of Jesus I live a righteous life following the teachings of the Bible and my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. I know Jesus and He knows me because I do the will of our Father in Heaven.
I have been given love, power and a sound mind and there is no fear in me. All diseases are healed and all depression is gone. I am hidden in the Rock of Jesus, who my enemies must defeat before they can touch me. I am alive forevermore through God who loves me. I am seated in Christ Jesus in Heavenly places. I am a citizen of Heaven. In Jesus' name. Amen.
