Scripture:
Isaiah 55 v 7: "Let the wicked forsake his way, and
the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will
have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."
1 John 1 v 7: "But if we walk in the light, as He is
in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."
About a year ago I posted a link to a YouTube video on
this blog which portrayed a very moving testimony of how a Hezbollah terrorist
came to know Jesus and be born again. Since that time all links to this
believer's videos have been blocked probably by other terrorists or any who
think that true commitment comes by force, blackmail, intimidation or murder.
I want to recreate in words all I remember of that video
as it touched my heart. It also upset some religious fanatics who were afraid
of the power and anointing on our brother's sincere and humble experience.
His Muslim Grandfather and his Father knew that he had a
special calling on his life of a religious nature and he had deep instruction
in Islam. He loved Allah and the Prophet with all his heart.
To prove his love and commitment he joined Hezbollah, a
terrorist organisation that does not recognize Israel's right to exist and will
kidnap, kill and force all others to accept Islam as the only true religion.
He was eventually arrested in Malaysia for having 7 false
passports in his possession, and thrown into prison. He spent his time in
prayer and study of the Koran. After a time a sudden illness struck him down
and he felt he was in the grip of death.
He sank down in his cell unable to cry out as he
struggled against a dark force that enveloped him. He saw a light and felt a
presence and heard the words "Call on Jesus, He will help you."
Without questioning it - he said it was like if someone
throws you a rope when you are sinking in quicksand you do not examine what
colour it is, you just grab it and hold on.
So he cried out "Jesus, help me!" Immediately
the darkness left him and the struggle was over. He felt well and in his right
mind. He did not become a believer but kept asking himself why Jesus would help
a Muslim.
He decided to fast for two weeks and wait for Allah to
enlighten him through reading the Koran constantly while fasting. He read it
through completely every 3 days.
After two weeks of this he just felt empty and alone. He
decided to reject Islam and be nothing at all. The moment he did this a bright
light shone in his cell and he felt the presence of someone else in his cell.
He cried out, "Who are you?" Then he felt the
weight of every sin upon him. So heavy was the sin upon him that he thought
only death could release him. He felt a hand touch his shoulder and again
cried, "Who are you?"
The answer came, "I am Jesus." Immediately the
conviction of sin was gone and it was replaced by the deepest peace he had ever
felt. He knew that Jesus was the true and living God who had forgiven his sins
forever.
He felt so clean and filled with joy and gratitude.
He prayed for a Bible because he needed to know
everything about his new life in Christ. The next morning someone went by and
dropped a packet into his cell. It contained a Bible! So he knew God heard and
answered prayer.
This happened in 1992 and he is still serving the Lord
today with joy and gladness.
From Brenda: We give praise and thanks to Almighty God
and His Son Jesus Christ for wonderful miracles and testimonies.
I was reminded of this one when the Malaysian Airlines
MH370 went missing with 239 souls on board. If it has sadly disappeared into
the ocean, who knows if Jesus did not appear in that plane as He did to our
Hezbollah brother and gather them to Himself.
Prayer: Heavenly Father - Nothing is too difficult for
You! You just need the opportunity to reach a searching heart. Lord God, even
though this video was blocked, let the anointing on this dear brother touch
everyone who needs to know that Jesus is alive! He came to save sinners and not
condemn them. Heaven's doors are open through the blood Jesus shed on the
Cross. Enter into your heavenly home. In Jesus' name. Amen.
