Scripture:
Revelation 12 v 7: "And there was war in heaven:
Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan) and the dragon fought
and his angels."
Daniel 10 v 13: "But the prince of the kingdom of
Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief
princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."
Daniel 10v 21: "But I will shew thee that which is
noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in
these things but Michael your prince."
In Heaven in the beginning there were three archangels:
Gabriel the Messenger and Recording Archangel; Michael the Guardian Angel and
Lucifer who was over Praise and Worship. He lost that name when he fell from
Heaven and was called Satan, the Accuser.
Archangels each have oversight over one third of the
angels. When Satan fell from Heaven one third of the angels followed him and
were then known as fallen angels.
Michael and his angels in their position as guardians
fought against Satan and his angels and threw them out of Heaven. Jesus said He
saw Satan fall from Heaven like a flash of lightning. (Luke 10v18).
Michael has a special assignment now. He is the Guardian
Angel over Israel. This was seen in the book of Daniel when Daniel fasted for
21 days and Jesus came to him in answer to his prayers. Jesus said He came the
first day that Daniel had called upon Him but He was prevented by the prince of
Persia from getting through.
What was He trying to break through? The Satanic barrier
cast over all nations as described in Isaiah 25. Jesus said the Prince of
Persia none other than one of the fallen angels who had called on other fallen
angels to help, had withstood Him for 21 days and He eventually called on
Michael to help Him and together they defeated the fallen angels who had set
themselves up as Rulers over nations.
When you see the state of Iran, which used to be called
Persia, and neighbour Iraq which is busy being demolished by ISIS, alongside
Syria, you may realise that the crushing of evil upon them is the result of
that battle back in the time of Daniel.
The events in the heavenlies are manifested on this Earth
and there will be a breakthrough in those lands of the power, love and
salvation of Jesus Christ.
Just as is happening in the nations at the top of Africa
where the Arab Spring took place a few years ago. Right now there is Christian
revival taking place at the top of Africa!
Thousands of Muslims have converted to Christianity.
The church is growing very quickly there. A couple of
missionaries last month in Algeria had to visit the dreaded police station,
which has shown extreme brutality towards converts in the past. They were
amazed at the policemen who crowded round them asking for knowledge of
salvation through Jesus. They spent nearly an hour sharing the gospel with
them!
The Archangel Michael watches over Israel to keep her
enemies at bay. He protects her from a spiritual onslaught but the
sophisticated early warning system and anti-nuclear defence plus the strength
of Israel's army and airforce, are a manifestation of Michael in the physical
sense.
Israel is the apple of God's eye and will not be defeated
again. She has suffered for her sins as the prophets all warned her about and
no matter what the world throws at her now, Archangel Michael will cause it to
fail.
Daniel 12 v1: "And at that time shall Michael stand
up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there
shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to
that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that
shall be found written in the book."
He is a mighty angel doing God's work and must never be
summoned by man or prayed to. If you have a need ask your Father in Heaven to
help you. His ear is always open to your cry.
Prayer: Heavenly Father all things are under Your perfect
control. The rulers of darkness are falling to Earth from their defeat and
their evil flares up for a season in this world but it is just the final death
throes of demons who have lost the battle. We shall not fear but rejoice in
Your plan unfolding. Help us to open our eyes and see the beauty of Your
Kingdom coming down in all Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
