How to stop a Plague

Scripture:

Deuteronomy 28v21-22: (When you forsake the Lord and disobey His commands): "The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until He have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it. The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning.....until thou perish."

Hebrews 13v8: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever."

According to John 1 the Word, Jesus Christ, created everything. He made us. He created Adam when God said Let us make man in our image. Who Jesus was in Eden, He is the same now and forever, therefore His word applies throughout all of history.

He has always made it clear that there are consequences for disobedience to His Word. Not because He wants to hurt or destroy us but because He knows that our only hope of survival is to be obedient to Him. So things happen for a reason and always for us to learn from.

Throughout history there have been plagues like during the Exodus the disobedience of Korah who fomented a rebellion against Moses (Numbers 16) resulted in all the rebels being destroyed when the land beneath them caved in and swallowed their whole families and all their houses.

The plague came on those who murmured against God and Moses for this punishment of Korah. Verse 46.  Aaron had to take fire from the altar and stand between the dead and the living but in that short time 14,700 died.

Today we call plagues epidemics or pandemics but back in the 14th century the Bubonic Plague or Black Death hit Europe and killed millions. I have attended the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, in which every 10 years the people of that town celebrate their survival from that plague. They committed their town into the hands on Jesus and not one died. Obedience to God stops plagues.

Today we have plagues like HIV/AIDS and Ebola. Why are they so hard to stop? We need to look at why they started.

Take South Africa which has the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS in the world. Back to Deuteronomy 28 v 58-59! If you will not obey God then you will have plagues of long continuance and sore sicknesses. This plague has been running for over 30 years already!

Let us look at the disobedience that gave rise to this plague. It is entirely spiritual. Thousands of years of witchcraft and ancestral worship, spiritualism at its worst, laid a foundation for HIV/AIDS to flourish upon. God sent the Dutch and the English and the Huguenots to South Africa to bring the knowledge of Jesus Christ to the people of the land. Some believed but most stuck to their traditions.

The Afrikaners separated themselves from the heathen and made laws against them which became known as Apartheid. A terrible scourge that brought great hardship on the African people.

They increased their witchcraft and ancestral powers and now rule this land under a communist socialist government. The corruption of the leadership is well known. AntiChrist, atheiest and godless.

The plague of AIDS marches relentlessly onwards. I have prayed for people with AIDS and seen the majority of those instantly healed who have rejected the power of their dead ancestors.

On one occasion I had a group of African women in my house for such prayer and I recall saying to the demon spirit of AIDS - you may not wait outside my gate to follow them.

After they left my prayer partner returned and asked Why is there a demon of AIDS wandering around the garden? I recalled forbidding it to wait outside the gate! I asked him what it looked like as he sees demons clearly. He said it resembled the cursed zombies in the movie Pirates of the Carribean!

One thing I have learned in 40 years of ministry - you cannot heal a demon! You can bind, rebuke and cast out a demon in Jesus' name and it will leave. You must fill that space with the fullness of Jesus or it will return.

Ebola has invaded West Africa where witchcraft, voodoo and ancestral worship also flourish. Our God has turned His face away and allowed Satan to bring the consequences of disobedience on those nations.

In 2 Samuel 24 the old and dying King David did something that displeased the Lord. He offered David a choice of 3 punishments - 7 years of famine; 3 months of war or 3 days of plague. David chose the latter in hopes of God's mercy. He was told to build an altar and offer sacrifice to God. By the time this was done 70,000 people had died.

David cried and said to God, I was the one who sinned but those who died did nothing wrong, rather judge me and my house. If only the world's leaders had the heart of David. And a conscience.

Prayer: Heavenly Father let us obey You and Your Word to remain in Your presence with righteousness. Let us destroy the evil traditions that kill us in the millions and accomplish nothing. If we pray and lift up Jesus' name You will forgive us and heal our land. We repent of neglecting Your commands. In Jesus' name. Amen.
