Scripture: Nehemiah 9 v 2-5:
"And the seed of Israel separated themselves from
all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their
fathers. And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of
the Lord their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they
confessed, and worshipped the Lord their God. ...then cried with a loud voice
.... Then said stand up and bless the Lord your God forever and ever: and
blessed be Thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise."
When you want to get serious with Jesus you need to
separate yourself from the world around you. Switch off every distraction and
stand before Him to confess whatever your conscience is burdened with; plus any
hidden sins inherited from your ancestors. Take your time, even a saved soul
needs to audit itself.
Once this load is cleared your worship comes easily and
is glorious. You can feel the power it brings into your spirit and you don't
want to stop blessing your Father and Jesus. A fresh anointing from the Holy
Spirit just flows through your unclogged vessel like a dam wall has broken. It
refreshes your spirit, soul and body.
This is God's grace of forgiveness, salvation and
everlasting life. We who were once guilty and condemned to death have been
given the gift of life. Our death sentence has been overturned by Someone who
chose to die in our place. We are released from the prison of mind, emotions
and will into the glorious liberty of our spirit.
There are rock stars; football teams; celebs who get
roars, screams, shouts, whistles and adoration but on the day that Jesus comes
for us the whole (saved) world will resound with shouts and cheers of
acclamation for the One who truly did it all for us. The unsaved will try to
hide in caves and under rocks to avoid seeing the eyes of the One they
rejected. But every eye will see Him.
Prayer: Father God, with a mouth filled with praise and a
heart filled with joy and thanksgiving, I will bless You O Lord. I want the
whole world to know and love You and come to repentance and true faith. I
worship You in Spirit and in truth. In Jesus' name. Amen.
