Walking Worthy of the Lord

Scripture: Colossians 1 v 10-11:

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness."

- The goal of walking worthy of the Lord is fruitfulness, knowing God more intimately, strength from His power and much patience.

- Fruitfulness means that His kingdom is enlarged by the number of souls saved by your testimony and witness. You sow seeds into hungry hearts and water them with prayer. God gives the increase.

-  You should desire to get closer to Jesus, to know Him in the fullness of His resurrection and to possess the mind of Christ. This will give you His knowledge and understanding of the world and how to pray and fast for the lost.

- Putting on his strength is for the battles that lie ahead. When you fight the enemy he schemes against you but when you learn to outwit him he is defeated. When he gains nothing from his attacks on you he leaves.

-  Learning patience involves going through trials and growing in faith as you see Jesus handling the various issues of our lives. When you endure discomfort with joy you are achieving a walk worthy of the Lord.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, our delight is in You Lord as we learn to live according to Your ways. Teach us to love, obey, pray, give, and be fruitful every day of our lives. Amen.
