Scripture: Colossians 2 v 2 -3:
"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit
together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding,
to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ:
in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
Let's face it, no matter how much we know and experience
of God He is a mystery to us. We know His love and compassion, we feel His
presence, we hear His voice but He is a mysterious being who has always existed
and will never die.
We know He is a Spirit who can only be properly
worshipped in spirit and in truth. Do we even fully understand what worship
means to Him except that when we are worshipping Him we are caught up into the
splendour and majesty of His being.
In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge. He is all knowing and that is another mystery about Him. The mystery
of our Heavenly Father who loves us like He loves Jesus even when we sin
against Him. The mystery of Jesus Christ who left Heaven and laid aside its splendour
to be born in a stable as a human baby at the mercy of sinners.
To know the answers we must become like Him. The more we
yield to Jesus the more we gain in wisdom and understanding. We must die to
self - We have no more rights than a dead and buried body. Jesus died to give
us eternal life.
It starts with human rights. You realise they don't apply
to a dead person. You. You can't stand up for your rights not even your
opinions count. Consider yourself dead and see what you actually own and if you
can control it from beyond the grave.
By His full surrender to God's will Jesus could save the
human race from Satan's clutches. He had one shot at this. We were dead in our
sins. He took back our death so we could be born again but alive in Him in Heaven
and our body here to be filled with Him to do the saving of the rest of the
world. We sing "It's no longer I that liveth but Christ who liveth in
me" but how many people really believe, accept and receive it.
When you do you will enter into a unique fellowship with
the Trinity of Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Its called unity. In that unity
you have access to the wisdom and knowledge of God. You transcend mortal
knowledge to possess the Mind of Christ.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, this world is a life or death
situation which we fail to comprehend. We need to enter into unity with You by
dying to self and this world to allow Jesus - by His great power and wisdom -
to win the world through us. Help us to understand and comply, Father. In
Jesus' name. Amen.
