Cleanse Your Home
Scripture: Deuteronomy 7 v 25 - 26:
"The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with
fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it
unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the Lord
thy God. Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be
a cursed thing like it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed
thing."
Of all the things God hates, idolatry is right on top.
The first of the ten commandments was that we may not have any other gods. The
gods of this world are idols and images, which are made to be worshipped on
altars. Some idols demand human sacrifice to this day. In the west its
legalised and called abortion.
Tourists and collectors of souvenirs from foreign
countries very often take home objects that are part of worship in another
culture. These objects in your home
attract demons like barbecues attract flies. All over Africa soapstone, wooden
or iron heads are made to honour the ancestors they worship.
These ancestors are called up by spiritism through
mediums and consulted on how countries should be run. The demons masquerading
as their ancestors know how to run a country - into the ground. You may have
the head of one or more of these demon gods in your home and wonder why there
is financial, relationship, drugs, alcoholism, sickness, accidents, fear,
robbery going on. Our God says that you have an abomination in your home
cursing you.
I once visited a Christian home in which there were two
statues of Buddha in pride of place. There was also strife, addictions,
homosexuality, sickness, divorce threats pressurising this family. I suggested that they get rid of the idols
first and then we can pray. I had flown 1100kms
to help them. The lady of the house politely disagreed about idolatry. I came
back the next day and she had called in her local pastor who had "baptised
the Buddhas" to make them pure! She was one who tithed large amounts to
the church and he couldn't afford to lose her.
Very early in my walk with Jesus He started teaching me
about cleaning my house spiritually. Our pastor and some church members came to
my home and walked through every room praying for anything evil to leave and
filling it with the presence of God. I had one specific problem which I failed
to mention. This house was infested in every room with little black ants. The
next day we watched in amazement as every single ant formed into a river, with
tributaries from every room, and marched out the front door never to return.
Many praises to God and a testimony to enjoy.
I will share here a list of objects that I have
definitely known cause problems of an unseen spiritual nature in homes: wind
chimes (used in buddhist temples); dream catchers; evil eye; wooden carved
masks -figures -drums -heads; statues of idols - Buddha, Hindu, African, and
shrunken human heads.
Many types of handmade souvenirs by other cultures pray
over their handiwork as they make it and attach spirits you cannot see to them.
Many of them are involved in the occult or witchcraft and those spirits are in
your home bringing sin, drama, problems and death.
A visitor to South Africa who stayed with us bought a
soapstone head to take home to England. I prayed for him to be protected and
that the Lord would find a way to get rid of it. A few months later his home
had a break in and one of the items taken was this head. He was most upset
about it while I silently rejoiced.
Serious problems also invade your home in the form of
books on witchcraft, heavy metal and rap music, some computer games, tarot
cards, angel cards, pentagrams and religious icons. You may think its just an
influence, but is an influence that causes sinful behaviour and problems.
I praise God for the thorough way He made me get rid of
things He found offensive. It brought about a peaceful home filled with His
presence and opened my eyes to the harm certain objects could bring in to block
people from knowing Him.
Do not desire to sell the object for money or remove any
gold or jewels off it. Every part of it must go. Smash or burn these objects as
the Lord commands. If you are unsure about something pray and ask the Lord to
show you. You may suddenly find that you can't be near that object and out it
has to go. Ask Him to reveal any and every item that blocks His presence, it
may be blocking every answer to prayer.
Daniel had to fast for 3 weeks before the Lord could
break through the satannic bondage over Babylon. Even He had to call on Michael
the archangel for help. Daniel 10. So if He needs us to remove blockages so He
can help us, we must do it without delay.
Prayer: Father God, as people obey this word from You, I
pray that every evil spirit, curse, blockage, bondage, illness, financial
problem or oppression be removed from them, their homes, offices, cars or
workplace. Fill them with peace, love and joy. In Jesus' name. Amen.
