Be My Witnesses

Scripture: Acts 1 v 8:

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the Earth."

Among the last words Jesus said to His disciples before ascending to Heaven forty days after His resurrection from death, was "Be My witnesses". It needed the Holy Spirit baptism ten days later to turn them from frightened believers into Apostles of Jesus when His power came upon them.

Whenever we encounter unexplained mysteries we search for witnesses who can enlighten us. Everything about Jesus needed an explanation. The four Gospels were written by those closest to Him to provide eye-witness accounts from His birth to death and beyond.

Today, we have to be witnesses to others of the real and powerful changes His salvation and presence have made in our own lives. Those who were once tormented by fear witness to the constant peace they now have. Jesus said in John's gospel, "My peace I give unto you". I  can personally testify to 40 years of peace that passes all understanding.

Jesus told His followers that they would witness in Jerusalem (their home city) and Judea (the area around them) and in Samaria (another country) and to the uttermost part of Earth (everywhere else). So wherever you may be this word is for you.

We need to give Jesus the glory for miracles, healings, financial and other blessings. The world who do not know the love of Jesus, need to hear from those who are blessed and refreshed by it. They need to hear your testimony of how Jesus saved you and changed your life.

The Holy Spirit backs up your truthful testimony so do not embellish it. Tell it like it is and even if the hearers do not immediately respond, the Holy Spirit will keep your words in their minds until He achieves His purpose and they feel the conviction of sin upon them.

People who get saved without the conviction of sin never have a real conversion of heart. Its only when they know they are sinners condemned to eternal Hell that true salvation comes to them. When salvation is real you have a witness from the Holy Spirit that you are a child of God.

So never be ashamed to tell people what Jesus has done for you. Your witness is a seed planted in their soul that will be like a grain of sand inside an oyster shell. It bothers that oyster until he makes a pearl out of it. Jesus is known as the Pearl of great price, and He will keep your seed bothering that sinner until His purpose is achieved.

Let today be filled with testimonies from everyone who reads this message. Do not procrastinate, tell someone now of the blessings you have received and let Jesus get to work saving that soul from death.

Prayer: Father God, You sent Jesus to be our Saviour. He does the work to bring each sinner to You. Our job is to be a witness, as often as possible, to plant seeds of hope into a sinner's heart. Give us boldness and zeal to plant many seeds for Your power to bring into your heavenly home. In Jesus' name. Amen.
