The Fear of the Lord

Scripture: Psalms 111 v 10: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."
Proverbs 9 v 10: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."

The Fear of the Lord really means deep reverence and respect for One who is mighty and powerful.  When you acknowledge Him as such it lays a foundation upon which wisdom is built.  The thing we really need to fear is doing the things He hates.  He says in Deuteronomy 7 that He will repay to their faces them that hate Him.  If you hate and reject that which He loves, He sees that as hatred towards Himself.

Wisdom says get in line with people whom the Lord God loves.  He told Samuel that the people had not rejected him but had rejected God's Lordship over them.  The consequences would result in wars and trouble.

When we have deep love and respect for our Lord Jesus, we will obey all His commandments.  We will want to know how to please Him, and that will come from reading His CV!  The whole Bible is His CV.  He is the Bible in fleshly form.  John 1 v 14 - And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.

We will have fellowship with one another because Jesus said when two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.  We need to be conscious of His presence and know He is filling our hearts with His blessings while we are sharing all He has done for us.

We will love one another as He loves us.  When we reject someone He loves, you reject Him, and leave a gap for the enemy to torment you.  The enemy will fill us with bitterness and cause us to persecute, slander or curse someone Jesus loves.  When this happens we need to fear the Lord and find some wisdom as our Rock has moved away and we are standing on quicksand.

Sometimes a minister anointed by God will speak a prophetic word over us.  We may interpret it as a threat or an ultimatum and tear that minister apart.  A prophet stands in the presence of God and clearly hears the message He wants to convey.  Wisdom will say don't kill the messenger.

God only warns those who are in danger of losing sight of the goalposts.  There are hundreds of references in the Bible saying My people have erred, they have wandered from the truth, they no longer hear Me.  Sometimes He looks away and is blamed for some dire calamity affecting your life or family.

Sometimes He has to allow a calamity to befall us just to get our attention back on Himself.  If we have the right fear of the Lord,  Wisdom will kick in and we will repent of our folly and change our direction.

Dearly beloved, we are walking through this world as it enters its most dangerous phase of all time.  Satan has unleashed billions or trillions of demons in a last ditch attempt to overthrow God's kingdom on Earth, first, and thereafter in Heaven.  How many of us are ignorant of the impact these frightful beings will have upon the unwary?

I have seen them in action many times.  I have first hand knowledge of the workings of the enemies of God.  Many Christians live in the make-believe fantasy idea that Satan and his demons are myths.  They like it like that so they can do their evil undetected.  You need the Holy Spirit's gift of discerning of spirits to deal with them.  Through that gift we can see, hear, smell, feel or taste demons.  You can deal with them before they cause problems to us.

As we grow in the knowledge of that amazing gift Jesus shows us how demons invaded our family tree up to four generations back through witchcraft, sorcery, feuds, Freemasonry, occult activity, worship of idols, serious sexual sins, curses etc.  He gives us power to uproot these evil things from manifesting in our family or churches.  He gives us wisdom to deal with every one of them.

He teaches us not to bring objects worshipped by other cultures, disguised as souvenirs, into our homes, because demons cling to such things and wreak havoc, bringing us under curses you cannot imagine. Deuteronomy 7 v 24-25.  In Revelations 3 v 5 Jesus says: "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

How can we overcome if we are ignorant of the very existence of these demons.  Halloween is upon us in a few days and millions of ignorant Christians will
unknowingly pay homage to Satan by indulging in the festivities.  It opens strange doors into spiritual darkness, and its origins are from Druidic times.  Druids were wizards, sorcerers, witches and other agents of Satan.  Freemasonry is filled with Druidic spirits.

If we have Masons in our ancestry, we or our children will be very vulnerable to the occult and witchcraft, alcoholism or drug addiction.
Exodus 20 v 5: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

The Lord has instructed me to be truthful and tell you what is happening in your lives because He says in Hosea, My people perish for lack of knowledge.  People only want to hear all the good stuff like blessings, love, peace, joy, prosperity, wealth and health. These are the things God promises to those who are obedient to His will, and who are alert to evil and overcome it.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, You have warned Your people since Eden. You sent Jesus who rebuked the Devil, Pharisees, hypocrites, scribes, and mean rich people.  He loved the sinners and taught them how to get to Heaven through the new birth and repentance.  He said Fear not, many times, and once, Fear Him who decides where you go after death.  Let's get wise and stay wise. In Jesus' name. Amen.
