How to Win Souls

Scripture:
John 3 v 3: "Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of heaven."
Acts 2 v 38 - 39: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

The whole purpose of man's existence on Earth is to be rescued by God from the wages of sin, which is eternal separation from God.  No matter what we find to occupy ourselves, or distract ourselves, we are sinners needing salvation before we pass away.

When we die we can take nothing with us of a material nature but if we have won souls to God's Heavenly kingdom, we will one day meet them all there and be blessed as we all rejoice together.

Once we are saved we are recruited into the task force of saving others and any one of us at any time may be the only rescuer a lost soul may ever meet. Some struggle to do their part because they don't know how to go about it.

Before you ever get to help anyone the Holy Spirit is convicting people of sin, righteousness and judgment.
This conviction causes the sinner to start hating the sins he or she is committing and to start seeking a solution. Because sinners have believed lies about Jesus, He is usually the last resort. So the first thing you should do to help is make Jesus real to the sinner.

The simplest way of doing that is by sharing your testimony of how you got saved and how Jesus changed your life and forgave your sins. Share how clean you feel and that you now have a relationship with Jesus, you can talk to Him and hear His voice.

This may be enough to win a lost soul to salvation and pray with them to be born again. Sometimes the doubts and fears are very strong and you have to water the seed sown with prayer.

Ask Jesus what is blocking that sinner from knowing Him. He will guide you in how to pray. You may never speak about Jesus to him again but He will send others across his path to help.

When someone is ready to be saved they could pray something similar to this:
Heavenly Father I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son who was crucified to take away all my sins. I believe Jesus was raised from death to life. Father forgive me for all my sins. I confess that I lied; rebelled against you; was jealous, spiteful, gossipped, drank, smoked and drugged too much, hated, committed sexual sin; was angry and aggressive; was involved in witchcraft, occult or other false religions etc.

I repent (change my mind) against doing these things and will turn away from them now with Your help Jesus.

Please cleanse me with the Blood Jesus shed on the Cross amd make me whiter than snow.

I forgive everyone that ever hurt me and ask forgiveness from those I hurt too.

Jesus please come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me and writing my name in the Lamb's Book of Life, Jesus. Amen.

Rejoice with the new born saint and encourage him or her to read the Bible daily and pray often to build up faith in Jesus and in their relationship with God. As soon as possible they should be baptised in water and then experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This completes the salvation and thereafter the new saint should grow in grace.

Prayer: Father God the whole of Heaven rejoices when one sinner repents and becomes born again of water and the spirit. I pray that rejoicing be a continuous roll of glory until the Lord comes for us. In Jesus' name. Amen.
