Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 1 v 5:
"For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance;"
Acts 1 v 8: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me....unto the uttermost part of the earth."
In the world there are many people who seek power. They want to be rich, famous and powerful - to control people and situations. They sell their souls to have the acclaim or fear of their (so-called) inferiors.
If they knew Almighty God they would find the true power that comes upon one who is filled with the Holy Spirit and under submission to Jesus. The power to move mountains, convert sinners into saints, turn hatred to love, bring light into the darkest heart. The power to heal the sick; drive out demons; cleanse lepers, raise the dead. The power to affect governments, laws, slavery and unjust practices.
In Acts 1 Jesus' last words before His ascension were to wait in Jerusalem until the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, should come upon them and they would receive power to be witnesses of Jesus' eternal life and resurrection glory to all the world.
He turned His disciples into power-houses who performed miracles of healing and deliverance. Where Satan had only to deal with one Person he now had 120 on his hands and before the day was out another 3000 would be added to his woes. It took just 12 apostles to turn this world upside down.
In 1 Corinthians 2 it says if the prince of this world (Satan) had known what would happen through Jesus' death and resurrection, he would never have crucified Him! The power of His resurrection is still building on this Earth and all of us who know Him are testimony and witness to it. This was God's plan and our enemy had no clue.
We need to be prepared and ready for the Wind of Revival that will blow upon this Earth. The Bible states in Matthew 24 that 50% of people will be saved in this revival. That's half the world. That's billions of people. That's the power of the Holy Spirit that will be poured out on all flesh. Peter, on the Day of Pentecost, quoted from Joel 2v 28 - 32: I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh......and I will show wonders in the heavens, and in the earth. God is going to show up in every home on this planet not too long from now.
Jesus will raise up the ministers and like in days of old there will be churches in many homes. There will not be time or space to build them. "For behold I come quickly," says Jesus.
We know that there was power in the death of Jesus, the power of the Cross. Its first power was as Jesus said "If I be lifted up (on the Cross) I will draw all men towards Me". He, in His death, became a magnet to all men.
There is power in God's creation. The power for every thing to reproduce the same kind for multiple generations. There is no missing link between human and ape because Jesus said so. Atheists are desperate to disprove the truth in God's Word because it has power to change the hearts and minds of men. They want the theory of Evolution to delete God's Creation. They are on the repulsion side of the magnet.
Peter won 3000 people to God's Kingdom that first day that the power of the Holy Spirit was poured out. Just believe that you will have that same gift to evangelise the world. If we could all win 3000 people per day we would win half the world in one week. And we will because its the will of God for all to be saved.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, this Earth will pass away one day when we are safely home with You. Great things will happen which no one can prevent when Your Holy Spirit is poured out on everyone. We will be on fire for You and in unity with the Body of Christ as You perfect us for the Rapture. We see signs in the heavens and are expecting mighty things to happen. Thank You Lord.
