Scripture: Joel 2 v 28 - 32: "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call."
Joel was an Old Testament prophet with a powerful message for Christians today. There is a volume of events in the word "afterward"! He knew that mighty things were coming on this planet, such as the advent of the Messiah, His life and death, followed by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and His gifts.
However, Joel was seeing a time when the end of the world was near and when the great and terrible day of the Lord would come. Before this "great tribulation" there would be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh.
This is a huge step further than where we have been since the Day of Pentecost right after the Ascension of Jesus. Then till now the Holy Spirit only came upon those who were born again and baptised in water. When the signs Jesus spoke of come upon the world that indicate that the Rapture is very near, especially the signing of a 7 year peace treaty between Israel and ALL Arab nations, not just with the Palestinians.
Do you know that the name "Palestinians" was not known before Israel became a nation again in 1948 after the 2nd World War Holocaust caused millions of Jews to flee Europe? The League of Nations gave the Jews the right to their own God-given land, and to call it Israel. The Arabs who occupied the land formerly called Palestine, refused to stay under Jewish rule, refused to go to any other Arab country, fled to Gaza and declared perpetual war on Israel until the Jews were completely eradicated.
So somewhere, sometime, a truce will be declared. Maybe sooner than we think as this past week things have been hotting up inside the Old City of Jerusalem, around the golden Dome of Al Aqsa mosque. For the first time in thousands of years, this week some Jewish men were able to stand on the Temple Mount and glorify God.
This happened because 3 Israeli policemen were killed last Friday by Palestinian militants who had been hidden in the Dome with their weapons. The Jewish Authorities immediately closed off the crime scene to all Arabs to ensure there were no other weapons stored in the mosque, plus install greater security measures, including a metal scanner through which anyone entering the mosque must pass.
This caused a howl of protest from Arabs globally as an insult against Allah and Arabs were forbidden to go to Al Aqsa mosque as it was now tainted by the infidels and going through metal scanners would prevent prayers from being answered. So the joyful Jews, until yesterday, took full advantage of freedom of worship on their holiest place where the new Temple is waiting to be rebuilt.
I say all this because Jerusalem is sitting on a time bomb right now and it could accelerate the global Arab peace treaty, and one of the co-signers of this treaty will be none other than the Antichrist himself, in person! The minute this all happens set your clocks because the last seven years has begun.
Spiritually, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on ALL flesh will occur and people will see dreams and visions, many will prophesy and great wonders of healing and deliverance will abound. Hospitals, asylums, jails will be emptied as the power of God sets people free. Within the next 42 months half the population of Earth will become believers in salvation through Jesus Christ.
Interestingly, I watched a video recently where it showed that many thousands of Muslims are converting to Christianity through powerful dreams where they have a personal encounter with Jesus. One lady said 80 percent of conversions came through dreams. I had a phone call late last night in which a friend shared a recent dream where an anguished woman was shouting at her in Hebrew. When she translated the Hebrew words it meant people of the Old Testament want her to shout from the mountaintops about salvation.
In the discourse of Jesus on the signs of the end in Matthew 24 v 14 - 15: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)"
v 29 - 31: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
These words that Jesus spoke shortly before His death amplified the words of Joel in a clear message to all of us this week. The abomination that stands in the Holy place, the Al Aqsa Mosque, has been breached for the first time in thousands of years, as prophesied by Daniel and confirmed by Jesus, for readers today to understand.
It may seem like an incident that will blow over but the passion of the Jews to reclaim their Holy place has spilled over by the short but powerful access they have had. The Arabs are feeling it because "infidels" have been inside their golden mosque and its no longer "halaal" and they don't want to enter through metal scanners. Both sides are known for their ability to escalate from an argument to a war on slight provocation so this could be the spark that ignites a full on confrontation.
What is growing more vital every day is the number of Christians who are revived in spirit with a knowing that Jesus Christ is coming soon . Even the Shemitah and blood moon this September 13 are causing many to believe its sooner than we think.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, the urgency in our prayers and prophecies of big changes coming soon are exciting us and frightening others. You are causing many from formerly resistant nations to be turned towards Your salvation through Jesus. We pray o Lord that more than half the world will be saved to enjoy Your wonders. Help us to be instruments of righteousness in these last days. In Jesus' name. Amen.
