The Meaning of Life

Scripture: John 14 v 6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 10 v 10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it morep abundantly."

No matter how many books on philosophy or science fiction we read their best answer on the meaning of life is 42!  We must look to the Creator of life for the complete answer.

When we have experienced the life that Jesus gives us we have a testimony to share.  Life before Jesus and life after He saved us.  Sin kills our spirit and it separates us from our Father in Heaven.  The death in our spirit breeds corruption in our soul and finally manifests in our flesh as a disease that will kill us.

This spiritual death occurred when we were held hostage in Satan's kingdom, tormented, tortured, brainwashed with lies, put into a fugue state to destroy each other and ourselves, left for dead.

In Genesis, God the Father said to Jesus, Let us make man in our image.  Genesis 1 v 26 - 27: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Genesis 2 v 7: "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

The first thing God did to the first human was breathe into him the breath of life.  Paramedics do this on a regular basis now.  But when the Lord did it it gave life to every dead soul and spirit born here.

When Adam and Eve sinned they lost the divine life of the Spirit and all its freedom and blessings.  They had to leave Eden and fend for themselves.  They became subject to disease and death and decay.  Those who lived after them had exceedingly long lives, nearly 1000 years, and the corruption was total so that God was sorry He made Man.

Plan B was the Flood with only animals and 8 humans surviving.  Their years were shortened to 70 and God started to separate the Jews from all other humans.  He forbade them to marry or even live amongst other tribes of people.  He blessed them above all other people.

Then He sent Jesus to Israel to conquer spiritual death by taking on our death when He hung on the Cross.  He did it so we could obtain everlasting life.
John 3 v 14 - 16: "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Because Satan was the god of this world, death ruled.  He ruled.  Our God had to set legal precedents to intervene with people on Earth.  Abraham had to be willing to sacrifice Isaac as a precedent for Jesus to be sacrificed.  Moses had to lift the serpent called Nehushtan on a stick for Jesus to conquer Satan when He was lifted onto the Cross and became SIN for us.

The wages of sin is death.  Sin causes disease and sickness and all atrocities.  There is only one solution the Blood of the Lamb.  It is the only means of cancelling the power of sin over us.  It brings us back to life.  The life is in the Blood.

Sin is a dirty word in the world and even in most churches.  It offends people.  It bothers them.  They are busy with it and it is now politically correct to make it an unmentionable.  The world has legalised sin and is forcing the Church to accept sin as the new norm.  The Antichrist is rising!  Jesus is coming back!

We have to choose life or death.  Follow Jesus or its death.  No options, no second chances, no comebacks.  He is the life and He offers it abundantly to us.  He sends us into the world to share our testimony of what the Blood has done for us.  What changes Jesus has made in us, deliverance from demons, healing of disease, a whole new beautiful way of life.

From rock music to hymns of praise.  Like Steve Tyler singing Amazing Grace in the church he was saved in.  On YouTube.  He has now hooked up with Alice Cooper another conversion from darkness to light.  I saw the unforgettable moment when Steve Tyler saw the light.  It was on Idols when Scott McCreery sang Where were you when the world stopped turning? A tribute to 9/11.  The chorus says: "But I know Jesus, and I talk to God" and the cameras did a sudden close up of Steve's face.  It was the second chorus and something powerful happened to him at that moment.  He even mentioned that moment in his appraisal to Scott.  The life of Jesus, the mention of His name, changed a life.

The whole world lies in darkness and hopeless death yet they are convinced by their brainwashed minds and twisted souls that they are living the best that life has to offer.  They are on top of the world, no worries, no cares.  Until death swallows them and takes them to a place they never even believed existed.  A place of eternal torment.  Jesus said it was real and He came to save us from it, if we would only believe.

That is the meaning of life.  Compared with eternity this life span is fleeting.  God says in 1 Corinthians 2 v 9 - 10: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

There are magnificent wonders awaiting the followers of Jesus for life everlasting.  The blessings will never cease but increase throughout eternity.  No sickness, sorrow or death.  No disappointments, wars, tragedies or storms.  It will be joy unspeakable and full of glory and the half has never yet been told.  As the beautiful gospel chorus goes.....When we all see Jesus and sing and shout the victory.  Imagine every sports stadium in the world fill not with sports fans but believers and multiply by a billion to get the roar and ambience of being together safe in His presence forever.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, You have done it all to rescue us, from Adam to the final human born, from horrendous death.  We must take the light and life of Jesus to bring its meaning to them every way we can.  It's more important than any other pursuit on this planet.  Let's save souls rather than whales, birds, global warming or things God will attend to in the Millennium.  Let's use our resources on that which matters to our Father.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
