Scripture: Luke 4 v 18: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
Jesus was anointed to heal the brokenhearted and set free those who are bruised. These are not your common, everyday bruises, but deep injuries to the soul that linger for years.
These long term memories produce inner scars that create emotional or mental turmoil that no amount of counselling can reach and heal. My first encounter with such a person whom I will call Marie showed me how Jesus does miracles that no human doctor or pastor can match.
Marie was 45 years old when she knocked on my door. She had knocked on many doors over the years and she lived in the next road. There was pain and sadness in her eyes and voice as she told me one of the most horrific stories of abuse I had ever heard.
From the age of two years to 16 years she had been raped every day of her life by four different members of her family. Her father, her grandfather, her brother and a cousin. It was so much part of her existence that she thought everyone did this and it was normal. Until she told a teacher who was giving guidance on moral behaviour.
The teacher informed the authorities who arrested the whole family and removed Marie to foster care. Her problem now was that although she was married she could not enjoy what God had meant marriage to be. The memories and scars had broken her and she wanted her life back.
To be honest I did not know how to really help her but I knew Jesus and His abilities are boundless. She sat next to me on the couch and put her trembling hand in mine. Actually both our hands were trembling. I started to pray softly in tongues, our hotline to Heaven, and within a minute Marie had fallen to the floor in a foetal position.
Jesus told me not to touch her but to continue praying in tongues. This continued for 45 minutes. She did not move at all. Then suddenly her eyes opened and she sat up and looked at me with this big smile on her face. "I feel like I have just been born," she said, "Every memory of what happened to me is gone and I feel so fresh and clean."
Jesus healed her heart, mind, emotions of scars and bruises in less than an hour. She came back a month later and said she was filled with peace, joy and love like she had never experienced before.
There have been a few similar cases over the years and I have seen that miracle happen again in front of my eyes. The trauma, fear and pain disappears when they receive a touch from our Lord, our mighty King.
Men too have battle scars and a condition known as post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. There is a demon called "Memory Recall of Hurts" that is linked with Bitterness. The key to healing is to forgive the person who hurt you. The only person troubled by bitterness is yourself. That demon brings back those bitter memories of events that happened long ago as if it happened moments ago.
The sounds, smells, emotions, words are as fresh as when it first occurred. The feelings of pain, helplessness and bitterness are fully recharged and the PTSD is back in control of your sanity. The demon is wrecking your life and Jesus wants to set you free. Today.
I am going to pray in tongues right now as I did for Marie and you are going to put your hand on this page and believe that Jesus is touching that broken, fearful, nightmare of a need. Release the person or person's that hurt you into the hand of Jesus, forgive them and let Him deal with them as He knows best.

When you have your victory there is a tremendous need in Texas today, in Sutherland Springs, where a whole town is reeling from a lone gunman shooting spree that killed 27 people in a church and wounded 12 others. Pray for them to receive healing too, plus all other victims of PTSD. When you pass peace and healing on your own healing gets stronger.
Luke 6 v 38: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Give peace, healing, love, time, support, finance to meet other's needs and our God will ensure that your own needs will be abundantly supplied.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that when I prayed in tongues over this blog that a strong presence of Your Spirit made my hand very hot with Your anointing for anyone that has a need today. Please bless them with compassion and mercy through Your eternal grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
