God's Mountains

Scripture:  Psalms 36 v 6 - 7: "Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
7  How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings."

Isaiah 52 v 7 - 10:  "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8  Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9  Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10  The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God."

Powerful spiritual things happen on mountains when our God is busy with His people.  Noah's Ark came to rest on a mountain called Ararat in Turkey after every living thing besides fish and sea creatures, was destroyed by the Flood.  Every sinful person perished and only 8 righteous people remained alive.  One family out of the whole world.

Imagine stepping off that Ark knowing that just these few around you would populate this whole planet.  Every one reading these words was a seed in them as they stood on that mountain and glorified the living God.

Moses was on a mountain when God appeared to him in the burning bush and revealed himself as the "I Am", and sent Moses back to Egypt to liberate the Hebrew slaves from bondage to Pharoah after 400 years of captivity.

During that Exodus, Moses spent 80 days  - 2 periods of 40 days without food or water - on top of a mountain receiving God's commandments and laws for the Hebrews before they could enter the Holy Land.  This land extended from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River and included Lebanon.  This is one of the reasons why the nation's surrounding Israel want to remove the Jews from existence.  They are afraid that our God will annihilate them and restore Israel to its rightful lands.

It was upon a high mountain that Jesus was tempted by the Devil who showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and said, If You will bow down and submit to me I will give You all these kingdoms.  Jesus refused his offer but did not disagree that all the kingdoms belonged to Satan.  To this day Satan rules everything on Earth except those who are born again citizens of Heaven.

On another mountain, The Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James and John.  They saw Him in His full radiance and majesty, Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus.  The disciples heard the voice of the Father saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear Ye Him.

Matthew 17 v 1 - 5: "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2  And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3  And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4  Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5  While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

Golgotha was not a high mountain but upon it the Prince of Glory was crucified for the sins of all mankind.  The righteous family of Noah escaped death through a flood of water.  We escape through the Blood of the sacrifice of Jesus which cleanses us of all sin.  No prayers, incantations or declarations, masses or dogmas can take away sin, only asking The Father to wash our sins away in the Blood of Jesus can free us.

Have you reached the mountain top of a personal relationship with Jesus?  Do you talk to Him and hear Him talking back to you?  Do you have the blessed assurance of knowing that you are saved for all eternity?  If not, pray with me right now and be born again as Jesus commanded in John 3 v 3: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please forgive me, a sinner.
I believe that Jesus Christ was born in the flesh and He is Your Son.  I believe He died in my place to justify me, which means just as if I have never sinned.
I confess my sins before You.......(make your own sins audibly known to God).  I repent, change my mind about sin and fall out of agreement with sinful practices.
I forgive every person who ever hurt me or wronged me because unless I forgive from the heart You will not forgive me.
I take back and break every curse or curse word uttered over any person or country or government or situation.  Please Lord set them free of my words.
Father wash and cleanse me in spirit, soul and body of every sin and uncleanness and make me whole through the power in the Blood of Jesus.
Father God, I open my heart and invite Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord and Saviour forever. Thank You Jesus for coming into my heart, I am now born again and my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Amen.
