Walk Worthy of the Lord

Scripture: Colossians 1 v 10 - 11:  "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness."
It is a big challenge to be all pleasing to a perfect, holy God, but David, second king of Israel, achieved it with all his many flaws.  God called him a man of My own heart!  What was David's secret?
David had a sincere relationship with the Lord.  He consulted Him through the Ark in the Holy of Holies all the time.  He checked out everything with the Lord and was honourable.  David declared what God loves, I love and what God hates, I hate.
David was very quick to repent when convicted by the Spirit.  He never debated his errors nor tried to justify them.  He was honest with himself and with the Lord.  He was not bitter against Saul, who had become hostile against Him, attempting to kill him through rage and jealousy.
David never relied on his own strength but always counted on the Lord being with Him to fight his battles.  When he went against the giant Philistine, Goliath, he did it in the name of the Lord, and using his familiar, trusty sling against the giant's great sword.  David killed him with one stone flung from his sling.
David continually praised and worshipped the Lord through His 150 psalms.  He spared the life of Saul because Saul was an anointed king, appointed by God, and he honoured that anointing.
The goal of walking worthy of the Lord is fruitfulness, through submission to God's will, and the power of the Holy Spirit.  We must be honourable in all our dealings with people to the extent of keeping promises even though it may cause us loss of some kind.
Fruitfulness means that His kingdom is enlarged by the number of souls saved by our testimony and witness. We sow seeds into hungry hearts and water them with prayer. God gives the increase.  He hears those prayers and puts things in motion to draw those seeking hearts into His kingdom.  We cannot tell God how to reach a stubborn soul, He knows much better than us what needs to be done.
We should desire to get closer to Jesus, to know Him in the fullness of His resurrection and to possess the mind of Christ. This will give us His knowledge and understanding of the world and how to pray effectively to increase the faith of those who need saving.
We must put on His strength for the battles that lie ahead. When we fight the enemy he schemes against us, but when we learn to outwit him he is defeated. When he gains nothing from his attacks on us he leaves.  Put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6) to stand against his evil tricks, and use the sword of the Spirit, the Holy Bible, to instruct him about the truth concerning us:
- I am born again, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. My name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
I am a child of the Most High God, my Father.  I am saved from Hell and have authority over you, Satan.
- I am healed of all diseases, and I can command your demons to be bound over all my family.  No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
- God made me perfect, whole, and pleasing.  Everything you have done to twist, pervert, spoil, hurt, damage my spirit, soul, mind or body must be cancelled through the Blood of the Lamb.  Every curse, religious spirit, familiar spirit, ancestral spirit, Freemasonry oath or curse over their 33 degrees, soulish prayer or any other such evil is broken, bound and cancelled forever in Jesus' name.
- I am a new creation, no longer just human because Jesus lives in my heart.  I am hidden in the Rock.  Satan you can only defeat me if you kill Jesus.  Or if you can tempt me back into your kingdom through sin and disobedience.  I choose to walk worthy of the Lord!
Prayer:  Father God, our delight is in You Lord as we learn to live according to Your ways. Teach us to love, obey, pray, give, and be fruitful every day of our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen.
