Free Will

Scripture: Genesis 2  16 - 17: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Deuteronomy 30 v 19 - 20: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."

Our Father wants us to love Him out of the goodness of our own hearts.  He wants us to recognize Him as  our Father and realise that He wants the very best for us.

He made elaborate and complicated plans to rescue us from a fate worse than death, even using His only beloved Son as the Ransom payment.  We were in the clutches of the most terrifying tyrant, brainwashed to reject, resist and hate God, and some got this worse than others.

For all these reasons He gave us a free will with which to choose whether we will agree to His discipline and come to know and love Him in our own individual ways.  Having a free will puts us higher in status than the angels.  All angels must obey the Lord God Almighty, and Him only.

They may not respond or do the bidding of man, as this would cause maximum confusion in the heavenly realm.  Angels are sent by God to protect us from harm.  If we try to summon or give commands to angels or even ask God to send them, chaos would result.

There are people who try to do this commanding of angels, but the only angels that can respond are fallen angels in Satan's camp, and they do cause terrible things to happen.  So go back to basics and make your needs known to God.

Free will means we have choices about everything in this life, but like all options we select from, some are better than others.  Some carry a higher cost faction, not just financially but in what we must contribute of our time, experience and lifestyle.

Every option carries an end result.  We make vows when we marry to remain faithful for better or worse, in sickness and health.  We cannot see the future but if love is real we do not need vows to carry on regardless.

If we choose to follow Jesus there are conditions attached.  And out of this world rewards!  If we are followers we must be prepared for resistance from unbelievers who have many different philosophies to lure us away from the truth.  We must not waver, we must stand firm on the Rock of our salvation.

Choosing to serve God restricts us from enjoying the pleasures of sin.  Unfortunately, sin and its pleasures are the neon lights to a fun fair that eventually, sooner or later, goes horribly wrong.

The fun fair is run by an evil mastermind who owns every wayward soul.  There are no grey areas here.  We are either in darkness or light.
John 1 v 4 - 5: "In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

1 John 1 v 5 - 7: "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

In this place of swings and merry-go-rounds, called the World, or maybe the whirled, entertainment is paramount.  Music, dancing, partying, drunkenness, social whirl, status, success in business, cartels, jewels, fashion, fame and all self-improving attempts.  The whole package is delivered by His Satannic Majesty through every outlet he can find to distract us from Jesus Christ.

Even the churches have embraced entertainment as a gospel come on.  The World has moved in by the choices some church authorities have made.  It is a slippery slope but justified by a larger congregation, who are being fed what exactly?

So free will truly means what?    It means that our Father gives us the right to choose light or darkness.  Light leads to Heaven, darkness leads to Hell.  Jesus made this quite clear when He became the New Covenant between God and Man.

Revelation 21 v 23 - 27: "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."

This is the way of the Light, our Passover Lamb, our Redeemer and Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ.  Is your name in the Lamb's Book of Life?  It is written there when you make the choice to be born again, baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit.  Then you must choose to live a life surrendered to the perfect will of God to shine the Light back into the darkness and find the lost, fallen, broken souls and revive them.

Even most of those won't listen, they state as fact, This too shall pass!  But when the final end comes, when eternity is before them, Jesus will speak the horrible truth to them on Judgment Day, I never knew you, depart you workers of iniquity.

To those who abide in Him, who walk in the Light, who have a personal relationship with Jesus, who have not retreated back into the Jewish Law of Judaism, Heaven awaits.  Eternal fellowship with the Godhead, the Trinity, and all those beloved people in like-minded agreement.

1 Corinthians 2 v 9 - 10: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You that we have a free will to make the correct choice for our lives, as
Joshua 24 v 15 says - "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."  In Jesus' name. Amen.
