Bind the Strong Man

Scripture:  Mark 3 v 22 - 30:  "And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit."

It is evident that many people in the Western part of the world, consider Satan and his demons as mythological beings who are not real, and therefore of no consequence as they can do no harm.  Satan and his hordes of demons are very pleased that people believe that, because they can continue their ungodly work without interference.

In the West discerning of spirits has been replaced by psychology and psychiatry, the study of the soul.  These are excellent studies but hopelessly inadequate to deal with the real problems in our souls.  Our souls consist of the mind, or intellect, the will and the emotions.  Beneath all that lie the subconscious memories.

Psychology can accurately describe all the interplay of emotions, will and mental gymnastics that make humans, good and evil, quite fascinating.  However, they deny the existence of actual demons so need to look for other reasons for weird behaviour.  Some bad cases are sent to padded cells in asylums.

One such case was in Weskoppies, Pretoria, where a woman was held in solitary confinement for extremely violent behaviour.  A Pastor called Johan, had a dream about this unknown lady.  She was calling him to rescue her.  All he knew was that she was in Weskoppies.  So he went to see the Chief Administrator of this asylum and accurately described this woman to him.

He knew exactly who Johan was talking about but said she was too dangerous for him to approach.  He would allow him to pray for her through the bars.  Johan protested that he needed to be inside with her but there was no way.  He stood outside the mad woman's cell and put his arm through the bars to touch her and pray.  She flew across the cell and ripped his arm into a bleeding mess.

That night he dreamed again.  Jesus spoke to him and said, I told you to go in and pray, no harm will come to you.  So he went back and begged the Chief to let him in.  He signed a form absolving the asylum of any lawsuit should he be injured or killed.  He went in and this woman flew at him, screaming, so he took authority over Satan, bound the demon in Jesus' name, and the woman fell at his feet, inert.  He prayed fifteen demons out of her.

After thirty minutes she rose up completely sane and in her right mind.  Calm and lucid.  She apologized for hurting his arm, saying, I just wanted to get you inside my cell.  I didn't want you to go.  I had a dream that you were coming to help me.  Oh the glory of God and joy for the victory over evil.  How many are like her around the world?

Seventy percent of Jesus's ministry on Earth was healing the sick, and casting out demons or dealing with Satan.  So he is no myth.  Jesus gave us His power and authority to deal with sickness and demons like He did.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit were given so that we can correctly discern if a disease is caused by a demon, which must be cast out as you cannot heal a demon, or whether you must lay hands on that sick person for healing.

For our Christian walk to advance we need to know what Jesus requires of us.  He says that His people perish from lack of knowledge.  We live in fear of catching the Ebola virus, Bird Flu or Swine Flu, or some other deadly plague, rather than walking in His victory over death.  We are new creations in Christ, not subject to the trials of this world, unless we live in ignorance of the power of God within us.

My eyes were opened in 1979 when the Lord threw me in the deep end of intense ministry to a woman who was bound by demons. I knew nothing about demons but here she was living in my house.  It was a massive eye-opener which changed the course of my life.  I suddenly found the gift of discerning of spirits had opened up within me and together with more experienced warriors we prayed deliverance for Carol.

There has been an endless stream of people coming for help since then, which aided the Lord in bringing me into the Ministry of Intercession.  We have learned to bind the strong man when dealing with people who are oppressed.  If you listen with your heart you will hear what is in their heart coming out of their mouths.  Your inner ear will hear bitterness, rebellion, anger, rejection, torment and hatred.  The Holy Spirit will guide you as you begin to pray.

The person who is full of Bitterness needs to forgive from the heart everyone that has ever hurt him or her.  Then you can bind the strong man i.e. the controlling demon of Bitterness.  God will not forgive our sins until we forgive everyone else.  When you bind the strong man you also bind any anger towards God plus unforgiveness.  This is how you spoil the goods in the strong man's house.  Everything linked to Bitterness must leave that person. All the bad memories, even smells or sounds associated with trauma that bring back those memories, must leave.

All desire for revenge, retaliation, payback, must go and then the true peace from Jesus that passes all understanding will fill the victim and bring healing.  This is faith in action and will heal many diseases associated with bitterness like arthritis, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, as well as drug addiction, alcoholism, smoking and rages.

When people are anointed by God to do things you do not understand, rather than undermining them you should praise God and pray for wisdom.  The scribes accused Jesus of casting out demons by Satanic powers, which, for the scribes, is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which can never be forgiven.  It applies when people in the deliverance ministry, or any other Godly work, are likewise demeaned.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone who is in need of deliverance to have faith to believe that You are able to help them. Let them not be afraid to call on the name of Jesus to bind demons to set the captives free.
