Have No Fear

Scripture:  Job 3 v 25: "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me."
Luke 12 v 29 - 32: "And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30  For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31  But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

We are alive at the end of the age that will usher in the return of Jesus to this planet, the Second Coming.  He said there will be things happening before He comes and they are scary things.

Right now there is fear on all sides because the novel coronavirus has appeared in Wuhan, China, and deaths are mounting, over 200 by today, infection is spreading throughout China and across the world.

This 2019 virus was first detected in Wuhan in April last year and was kept secret.  There have already been cases in South Africa as early as September 6th 2019, where a person known to me was hospitalised and tested positive for this virus.  She is a Christian and has survived.  Praise the Lord Jesus.

There are other things raising major concerns like the Australian wildfires, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, superstorms, climate change, other plagues and unforeseen events.  It is greatly troubling to the world who do not believe the Bible is relevant in modern times.  We who follow Jesus know just how relevant it is.

Therefore when we see these signs being fulfilled we do not fear but look up to see the coming of our great King.  Every eye will see Him when He returns.  Those who denied and rejected Jesus will try to crawl under rocks for shame and fear.

Revelation 1 v 5 - 8: "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7  Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

We are kings and priests in His Kingdom which will never end.  We have absolutely nothing to fear if we keep living the way He wants us to.  Fear is a tool of Satan to coerce us into doing things that are sinful, evil and wrong.  Peer pressure from an unseen foe whose only weapon left is bluff.  Bluff built on lies and innuendo, gossip and slander, anything that compromises our walk with Jesus.

So let us carefully weigh whatever fear is laid upon us and consider it from the knowledge we have, and call the enemies bluff!  Make him give way and slink back into his dark hole.  We are the Overcomers, the New Creation, and Jesus is always with us.

So why does He not confront Satan for us?  Oh He did when He went from the Tomb to Paradise.  He made a show of him openly.  He rubbed his nose in it in front of all his demons, fallen angels, ruling spirits.  He stripped Satan of all authority, and the keys to Hell and death.  So when fear comes challenge it with the power of God's Word or that which you greatly fear shall come up in you.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, You have made provision for every eventuality and as Daniel did not fear the lions, and his friends, Shadrack, Meshech and Abednego had no fear of the fiery furnace, so we can face every challenge with confidence and peace.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
