Scripture: 1 John 4 v 3 - 6: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error."
In everything we do from cradle to grave we must grasp that we are essentially spirit beings. We are spirits covered by a soul and a fleshly body. Our communion with our Father is spirit to spirit so how our spirit responds is how He perceives us.
Our response can be affected by the negative spirits in people around us, or who govern us, or who want to harm us in some way. As born again believers John says we have overcome the spirit of antichrist in order to believe the truth about Jesus.
When we come up against barriers in people with whom we want to share the gospel of Jesus, it is because they have not overcome the antichrist spirit in themselves. They are still being influenced by this lying, contrary, evil spirit.
Compare it to a drunk person, under the influence of alcoholic spirits. Can't reason with them, can't use common sense, have to wait till that influence has been overcome. Any person under the influence of any spirit other than the Holy Spirit, is difficult to convince of truth. They need a sobering experience and the Holy Spirit will work with us to shake their world a little or a lot so they have need of spiritual help.
Right now the Holy Spirit is taking advantage of the global pandemic to shake everyone out of slumber to realise that something other than WHO or UN or our governments are in any kind of control over a virus so tiny it needs a microscope to see it. And they do not know there is a spirit behind it who Jesus calls the thief who comes to steal, maim and destroy in John 10 v 10.
So many worldly people are crying out to God for help and we who are those in whom greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world need to step up. They need Jesus and we are all His ambassadors. We know Him and we are part of His Kingdom. We must reveal what we know to those who are afraid, lost and grieving.
Have we buried our one talent? Or are we using our status as in the land of the blind One Eye is king. If we know the way of salvation and are ignoring the cries of the lost and fearful, how will we stand in His Presence and answer Him one day?
A man called Alf told me one day that he was haunted by a dream he had of going up in the Rapture with thousands of others yet hearing the cries of many on the ground saying, Alf, why didn't you tell us? It never inspired him to get out of the pews and work for Jesus but it truly inspired me.
There are over 1400 of these blogs that are a cry from my heart to make straight the paths of the coming King Jesus, and go into the highways and byways to bring souls into His Kingdom. We may think we have many wonderful purposes in this life, but in His eyes, this is what He wants.
Greater is He that is in us. All He needs is an opportunity and for us to have the courage to speak. Pray and bind that antichrist spirit in those we are about to share with. Silence and gag it from interfering with the lonely, wounded, suffering spirit all dressed up in its arrogant finest, yet dying of sin and needing the ventilator of fresh air that only comes from the Holy Spirit when we allow Him to do so.
Stop predicting how we will be perceived by people if we bother them with religious things they don't want to hear. After I was saved I became aware of many people I knew who had ample opportunity to share Jesus with me and never did. I needed to forgive them and get rid of the anger I felt at having to be without Jesus so much longer.
John 3v 16 - 17: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
Let us not lose perspective and condemn the world, the sinners no matter how bad, but stretch out our hands to pull them out of the mud and filth to become cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. Jesus does not condemn them, He died to save them all.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we worship and bow down before You in worship, praise and love. You are a Spirit and our spirits worship You. The Greater One dwells within our hearts and desires for us to be like Him. Father, in any way we fall short of Him please change us now so that we continually obey Him who pulled us out of the pit and set our feet up in a Rock that can never fail. In Jesus' name. Amen.
