Tremble At His Word

Scripture: Isaiah 66 v 2:
"For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word."

James 2 v 19: "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

In our search for ways to receive the Lord's blessings and answers to our prayers it is always helpful to know what He says about our attitude towards His Word.

His Word is very precious to Him as He calls Jesus Christ, His Son, the Word.  John 1 v 1 - 4: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  The same was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men."

The Holy Bible is also the Word of God.  Jesus informed Satan in Matthew 4 v 1 - 4: "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Not only must we know and love and follow Jesus, but we must know the Word of God and how to use it properly to enjoy the abundant life God promises us.  He says we must tremble at His Word because it leads us to eternal life and if we fail to treat His Word with respect, we cannot expect our Father to respect us.

We must also listen to God's voice through His true prophets when we know they speak truth through righteousness.  God also speaks to us through the Holy Spirit in private fellowship in which He gives us personal instruction.  If there is a calling on our lives to minister for Him, we know about it before anyone else.  Prophets, pastors or fellow saints confirm the Word we have received.

If a prophet or anyone else gives us a word that changes our direction, do not act upon that instruction until God has confirmed it to us personally and in His Word.  If there is any doubt - leave it out!  If any object to our "disobedience" simply say I am still waiting for God to confirm it.  When His Word causes us to tremble, that is a word hitting the sweet spot.

We tremble when a hidden truth in our lives gets revealed as we read His Word.  It leaps from the page and penetrates to the depths of our being.  Hebrews 4 v 12: "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

The Word of God carries His full anointing which will achieve the change in our lives that nothing else can equal.  It divides soul from spirit because of the clash within us where these intersect in our being.  We speak of a troubled soul, a lost soul, a wandering soul.  Our souls harbour our secret and sinful thoughts and memories; they store our hurts and bitterness, the demons that trouble our minds and cause us to behave in bizarre and evil ways dwell within our souls.

Our spirit can be depressed, oppressed or suppressed by the things in our souls.  As David eased the psychopathic temper of King Saul through his music on the harp, so do we seek music that calms our soul.  The Lord wants to change the storm in our soul through the power in the name of Jesus and the revelation in His Word.  He wants those who have the gifts of the Holy Spirit to use them wisely to ease the burdens of those afflicted by this world.  It is a complete healing not just the easing that music brings.

What is concealed in the unseen regions of our soul and spirit is portrayed through our flesh.  If we are inwardly seething with rage it can quickly manifest in verbal or physical aggression.  If this is a constant problem causing violent behaviour then there is a demon troubling you.  If you cannot control sinful behaviour then there is a demon controlling you and its agenda is to wreck your life.  If you need help contact me @propheticfire01 on Twitter.

In Isaiah 55 v 9 - 11: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

The Father sent His Word to heal us - Jesus and the spoken and written Word.  It shall not return to Him without achieving its divine and perfect purpose.  If there seems to be a blockage to healing make sure everything in our lives is in harmony with God's will for us.  If our behaviour causes stress to others and we refuse to mend it, then expect the same response from Heaven.

God responds to our behaviour.  If you forgive from your heart then I will forgive you says the Lord.  If you humble yourselves and pray I will hear from Heaven and heal your land.  If you give I will give more back to you.  If you obey Me I will open the Windows of Heaven and pour out abundant blessings.

If you don't obey, don't give, don't pray, don't humble yourselves, don't have faith then James 1 v 21 - 23: "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:"

We are saved by our repentance of sin and the cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus.  However, we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.  We must pray and read our Bibles daily or we are spiritually running on an empty tank.  We must do what we read about, put the Word into action because faith without works is dead.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we honour, respect, love, worship and tremble before You in anticipation of Your blessings.  We want Your approval and to be healed, forgiven and made whole.  We tremble when Your Word becomes a sword that lays bare our souls and we need Your grace, mercy and love to overcome sin and shame.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
