Scripture: Proverbs 3 v 1 - 7: "My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."
All the wisdom of Solomon can be condensed into these seven verses. Keep your eyes on Jesus in true obedience and you will live a long, peaceful and happy life.
Be honest and compassionate and you will be blessed and acknowledged by God and man. Trust in the Lord WITH ALL YOUR HEART, and He will watch over every part of your life, unless you prefer doing things your own way, and suffering the consequences.
Do not think you have all the answers, respect the power of the Lord and give up all sinful pursuits. This will ensure that your faith will be rewarded and your eternity will be magnificent.
Basically, God says trust me, don't worry about anything, let Me work it out, just stay close to Me and obey my Word. This seems to be very difficult for some to grasp. They second guess the Lord, make a faster more lucrative plan and expect Him to bless it.
He does not work that way! He has this massive plan to save every human being on Earth. It needs all of us endangered people to work together to do the exact thing each of us needs to do, to show God that we trust and believe in His plan.
Worry and anxiety and fear turn that idea upside down. Right now with the pandemic raging again, its time to stand up and be counted. He has made a way through this for His children, as long as we know what's expected of us and diligently do it.
Matthew 6 v 24 - 26: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
Take no thought equals "Do not worry, panic, be afraid, or find your own way out!" The Lord is saying that we must trust Him in everything. Forty years ago I decided to trust Him completely for my life and my family's lives. I cancelled Medical Aid and all Insurance policies. The Lord has been very faithful over all these years and I have not needed any of them. I do not even know the name of a doctor in my area. Faith frightens Satan.
The Lord sustains me financially too. I have had no formal income for 25 years but I have lived well and never missed a payment nor gone hungry. He has raised up people who bless me financially out of their own love for Him. People have tried to scam and steal from me. I have seen extraordinary miracle interventions preventing them succeeding.
There was an online banking scam where I saw several thousands disappear off my account. I was shocked when suddenly I saw it all replaced. Immediately, my cell phone rang and a man calling himself a technician said that he had seen my account being scammed and managed to reverse it! I asked if it was only me and he said no there were thousands of accounts affected. I asked how many he had helped. Only you, he answered.
I went straight to my bank, especially to inquire how I could get hold of the technician who helped me, to thank him properly as he had disconnected the call. The bank officials assured me that there is nobody able to do this! They saw the money replaced on my account but had no idea who or how! This was just one of a few and each time some miracle saved the day.
I can only give glory and thanks to Jesus who is worthy of our full trust. We need to demonstrate it in some way to show we know that we are not of this world but already citizens of Heaven. He has kept me safe during this pandemic and to date nobody I know has died of it.
I share these blessings to encourage you to show the Lord you trust Him absolutely. He will not let you down, but will meet your needs and even bless others through you. Why worry when the Lord God Almighty is watching over you?
Romans 8 v 35 - 39: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, many people have trust issues and rapidly lose faith as soon as things take a downturn. Lord help us all to never waver in our faith, never doubt Your ability to protect us, never worry about past, present or future problems. Let us believe in You who parted the Red Sea, gave Israel the Promised Land, resurrected Jesus back to life and saved our sinful souls. In Jesus' name. Amen.
