Scripture: Revelations 1 v 4: "John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
3 v 1: "And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
The Revelation of John given by the Holy Spirit starts with a revelation of how Jesus looks in his glorified body Revelation 1 v 12-17: "And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:"
This is a profound comparison with Who Daniel saw in Daniel 10 v 5-9: "Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground."
Another similar comparison could be made with Paul's encounter with the living resurrected Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, which turned his life from dark to light. None of those accompanying him could see Jesus, they only heard a voice and were speechless.
The Seven Spirits before the Throne of God would correspond to the rainbow around this Throne. Seven colours and seven Spirits. God made a covenant promise with mankind with the first rainbow noted in the Bible that He would never again destroy Earth with a flood. In Acts the Holy Spirit was given as a promise from the Father.
In trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together, a picture emerges that the Holy Spirit could comprise or include the Seven Spirits of God and be manifest in the Rainbow. Interestingly, the symbol of the New Age movement is a fake rainbow of five colours. Those who follow Satan's world plan are always going to be missing out on truth and fairness.
So what could these Seven Spirits be? John mentions them three times. Much emphasis is upon the number 7 in the first few chapters of Revelations. Jesus speaks of seven churches; seven stars; seven golden candlesticks; and the seven spirits before God. John the Baptist said that Jesus was He who would baptised people with the Holy Spirit and fire. Beware of the fake fire meetings that are common today.
In chapter 4 v 5 ".....and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the Seven Spirits of God."
I believe these Seven are the different anointings that go forth from the throne of God to empower God's people whether Jews or Christians throughout the ages. An anointing is that which is separated by God upon a person, group or nation to accomplish vital tasks. Moses was anointed to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt to Israel. Jesus Christ, the name Christ means the Anointed One, who came to lead us from sin to righteousness, from Hell-bound to Heaven.
Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are anointed by the Holy Spirit to tend the flock of God, to restore the Body of Christ, and make disciples. Everyone baptised in the Holy Spirit has an anointing to be a witness to the gospel of Jesus.
The anointing that caused the Creation of all things comes first. It covers the Creation of Heaven and Earth, stars, planets and the Universe. It produces God's only begotten Son, and His Bride, plus archangels, and angels. It extends to this void rock called Earth being made habitable for mankind, with all trees, flowers, fruits, vegetables, animals, birds, fish and insects.
Just the description above of Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, in Revelations, and the Person Daniel saw, who was the pre-incarnate Son of God, is sheer magnificence. He is the Anointed One, and He also showed up in the fiery furnace alongside Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego. Even Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed there are 4 men walking in the flames and one is like unto the Son of God. All of His appearances would be through one of the Seven Spirits before the Throne of God.
The whole hidden mystery of the Bride of Christ would also be covered by this anointing. The anointing of God through the Holy Spirit is to appoint all things and people pertaining to the performance of His will. It is to empower all spiritual people so appointed with gifts and abilities that they would be fully equipped for the tasks set before them.
Ephesians 3 v 8 - 11: "Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:"
After the Creation comes the judgment anointing that started with Adam and Eve being cast out of the Garden of Eden, with guardian angels being commanded to let no one enter this Garden to protect the Tree of Life.
Then the judgment on Cain, the first murderer, then the Flood to wipe out all but 8 persons and pairs of all created animals, followed by the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This anointing would also be evident in the Great White Throne judgment after the Seventh Millenium. It would have laid the full judgment of every sin upon the sinless Son of God, to restore us to how God created us.
Thankfully, Jesus told His followers that believing in Him gave them everlasting life and that they would not face Judgment. John 5 v 24: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
The third Spirit of Anointing would be forming the land of Israel for God's chosen people enabling Moses to lead the Jews towards it for forty years by mighty miracles against Pharoah. This is the special anointing for the shattered Bride to be restored in her own anointed place after the terrible holocaust during the Second World War. Whatever Hitler had as a goal for this War, world domination or massive control, his real and hidden agenda was the annihilation of the Jews.
So after 1900 years of being scattered over the whole world, Israel was able to regroup in this anointed land, which has been trimmed down to the size of Manhattan in NY. She no longer has all the land from the Mediterranean to the Euphrates, but she is still a force to be reckoned with.
This anointing also protects her from the Arab nations who have been at war with her since 1948 when she became a nation again. It will also be her protection from now until she flees into the mountains of Petra, when she knows who the Antichrist is, till the Battle of Armageddon, when Jesus destroys those armies in one moment of time. This is her Messiah, her Bridegroom, her true beloved. She failed to recognize Him the first time He came. John 1 v 10 - 11: "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not."
John the Baptist knew who Jesus was in John 3 v 28 - 29: "Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled."
The fourth anointing would be the conquer of Satan and his demons in all realms, the Heavens, on Earth and in Hell. It includes the descent of Jesus after His death into Paradise, or Abraham's Bosom. This was a compartment of Hell from where Lazarus could converse with the rich man, but could not help him. Here Jesus took the keys of Hell and death from Satan, and completely conquered him. This anointing would be so powerful that it would cause the Resurrection of Jesus plus all the occupants of Paradise, who were seen alive in Jerusalem on the day of His resurrection (Matthew 27 v 52-53).
The Fifth Anointing is of the empowerment of the Holy Spirit given after 50 days (Pentecost) from Jesus' death - the promise of the Father - to bring salvation and help Christians to witness for Jesus and to wisely use the 9 gifts to bring healing and miracles to those who need it. It will fully blossom in the last great revival in powerful evangelism, prophecy and many miracles, bringing in the great harvest of souls to the Kingdom of God. It includes the power of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment, plus repentance leading to salvation.
Further it brings forth the New Creation after water baptism effectively exchanges the dead spirit in humans for the living Spirit of Jesus. Our dead spirit is now made alive in Christ, in heavenly places. Ephesians 2 v 5 - 6: "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:"
The 6th anointing will force Satan to manifest fully as the Antichrist on Earth in the Great Tribulation where his true colours will be seen for the last 7 years. He will know he has a short time and his utterly evil nature and hatred for all God's creation will be on full display.
It will bring about all the end time woes, vials of wrath, severe weather, tempest, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, pandemics, climate change, as the war that started in Heaven between God and Satan, when he kidnapped the Bride on her wedding day, has continued ever since as Satan seeks to destroy her, until now when the full extent of that war arrives on this planet. Jesus was the Ransom but the evil enemy never released her, his leverage from start to finish.
The final or 7th anointing is for the Rapture of all born again Spirit filled Christians to be caught up to Heaven to meet Jesus in the air and to ever be with the Lord. This coincides with the testimony of the two prophets (possibly Moses and Elijah) in Revelation 11 whose dead bodies lay in the street for three days before they rose from death and were immediately Raptured - Resulting in the rescue of Israel during the Battle of Armageddon - and the ushering in of the final Millenium of rest and restoration in peace.
The first person to experience the Rapture was Moses, whose body was never found, then Elijah, who went up in a whirlwind. They both appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus. The next was the Ascension of Jesus himself forty days after He rose from death.
This is just a thumbnail sketch for those who are interested in understanding Revelations to explore and study further. I can find no other explanation of the Seven Spirits of God, but if there is I hope you will share it with us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father we so long to be in Heaven with You to look upon the things which John saw in Revelations. He never explained the Seven Spirits before Your throne but years ago You opened my eyes to what the seven thunders had uttered. Like John I had a very sweet taste in my mouth and a bitter belly. Your power has gone forth to accomplish all these things and Your Word never returns to You void. Please let the reader understand the truth. In Jesus' name. Amen.
