Scripture: Deuteronomy 18 v 9 - 13: " When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God."
Leviticus 20 v 6 - 7: "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God."
In South Africa, as in many other, if not all, nations there is the worship of dead ancestors. It is believed that the spirits of the dead can convey our needs to God or the gods, better than any other method. However, the one true God, our Father, expressly forbids this practice and it is written in the Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible.
Starting today the ruling party, the African National Congress, will sacrifice a bull and tomorrow, 8 May 2021, intend for the whole of South Africa to unite in worship of the ancestors to dedicate this nation to them for spiritual guidance going forward. A day of prayer worship of the spirits of the dead has been set aside to try to reverse the serious divisions in the ruling party, threatening a collapse at the municipal elections in October.
From God's point of view, the fact that many of our leaders and members of the ANC belong to the Communist Party, and show little interest in Jesus Christ or His salvation, this day of ancestral worship is not going to help matters. Coming on top of the recent closing of our embassy in Israel, the writing on the wall is becoming a strong option.
The growing corruption being manifested in the Zondo Commission on State Capture by MPs allied to one prominent Indian family, who seemed to run the government through the previous president, has fractured the ANC in a very public forum.
As Christians we need to unite in prayer today and tomorrow to call on our God to protect us and guide us, as well as putting the familiar spirits, which pose as ancestors and bring more division through witchcraft rituals, to the sword. We need to deal with this demonic practice by using godly authority to bind these evil spirits and cast them back into Hell.
Since we heard of this ceremony earlier this week and started praying there has been quite strong reaction from the spirit realm. This is not unusual but the intensity was rather abnormal. These are desperate measures being implemented in a week that has forced the Secretary General of the ANC, Ace Magadhule, to be suspended after being criminally charged. He is not taking this well and retaliated by trying to oust the President of SA!
Division comes from witchcraft. It is a product of the use of evil spirits to achieve dominance. They cause the very opposite of what the government is trying to achieve. Ignorance is not bliss. Cheaters never prosper. Where you see great political divisions in any country, dig into the spiritual depths and witchcraft rituals, calling up the dead, curses, spells, prophecies etc will bring the house down. Witchcraft also brings confusion of mind and dementia (control by demons) is the result.
These divisions can bring about war. With S.A. being on the back foot for God's grace and mercy, and the ANC at war within itself, we need to pray for God's will to be done to block the negativity that the demonic familiar spirits of the ancestors will surely add to our tribulations.
1 Samuel 28 v 7 - 8: "Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee."
King Saul was in panic mode facing a war without the help of the prophet Samuel who had died. He had cleared the land of witchcraft but needed to find a witch somewhere to "talk to Samuel". He got more than he bargained for when the real spirit of Samuel manifested through the Witch of Endor, and spoke death over Saul and his sons, who all perished in the war the very next day.
Familiar spirits are demons which are very familiar with you, knowing all about your relationships with departed family. They can mimic voices of your grandmother, call you by a nickname, know your favourite song or other very convincing traits. They can fool anyone but especially a person wanting to connect with a dead parent or child. Everything the familiar spirit guides you into is false and detrimental to your life. Attending seances with spiritualist mediums, psychics and dividers is very dangerous practice.
I have prayed for many people who had HIV.AIDS. When they renounced ancestor worship and repented of all divination and spiritualism, and were born again, they were completely healed by Jesus. They all felt the evil spirit go from them like a heavy cloak lifting off them. The first person this happened to had a CD4 count of 150, i.e. full blown AIDS, bedridden and staring death in the face. Within 3 days his CD4 count had risen to 900! Normal is 800. That was in 2004 and he is still alive and flourishing. Our God is awesome and gets all the glory for miracles and healing. With AIDS once the CD 4 count is below 200 it never reverses back up. When the doctor phoned him to ask how he reversed his count, he was told through prayer. The doctor hung up the phone.
There is a link between this plague and psychic communication with the dead. The evil spirit of AIDS looks exactly like those sailors, zombies, in the movie, Curse of the Black Pearl. Demons cannot be healed, they must be bound and cast out.
Therefore we must deal with the threat coming from this call for 8th May to be Ancestors Day, and the unleashing of more evil spirits on our already sorry state in South Africa. Remember, we are all spirit beings, clothed with a soul, covered by flesh. We are only permitted to have communication with God through the Holy Spirit, of truth and love, in the name of Jesus.
Shine Jesus shine fill this land with the Father's glory,

Let us sing this chorus as part of our prayer and intercession over the next two days and beyond.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we bring the land of South Africa before You in concern for the ceremonies planned for the next two days of Ancestor Worship. We take authority over all familiar spirits that are planning an invasion and bind them (paralyze them) in the name of Jesus. We spoil these plans to desecrate our nation with more evil. We render these ceremonies null and void and pray for Your protection O Lord through the power in the Blood of Jesus. Through the Blood Satan has no power over us and no place in us. We cast these bound spirits back to Hell. In Jesus' name. Amen.
