Let There Be Light

Scripture:  Colossians 1 v 12 - 17: "  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

Genesis 1 v 1 - 5: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

Genesis 1 v 14 - 18: "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good."

There above us is a big bunch of scripture that was needed to provide a theme for today's study.  We need to have secured in our hearts and minds that Jesus is the Creator of all, ALL, things.  We did not originate as some amoeba strolling out of a swamp as evolutionists would have us believe.

Nor are apes in our ancestry.  Scientists have proved since the discovery of DNA, that every human ever born can be traced back to the same original two beings created by God called Adam and Eve!  No exceptions.

Let us have an imaginary journey back in time to our Earth before it was chosen as the habitat for sinful beings whose spirit had died because of sin before anything was created.  We had all sinned before we were in our mother's womb.

God had to make a place for us because Heaven and sin are incompatible.  He had a long range plan to bring us back to life.

When He selected the planet it had no form, it was void or empty, it was in darkness.  He spoke the words that would change all that, His Son created all that was spoken by God the Father.

When He said, Let there be light, the Sun was created by Jesus as a source of light, heat and radiation.  He had to ensure there was oxygen so billions of trees were planted to give off oxygen through the light of the Sun.  At night it would reverse and trees and plants would give off carbon dioxide.

He had to fill the Earth with edible vegetables, and fruit, animals and birds to provide meat, fish in the seas.  The first human, Adam, was a clay statue into which God breathed His Spirit to give life to him.  Eve was taken from a rib of his and was a female clone of Adam.

Every dead soul, that is everyone alive or who ever lived after Adam and Eve, was placed in her ovaries.  The blood line from Abraham to Jesus is written in Matthew 1 v 1 - 17.  This is the genealogy of Jesus from the time of the separation of the Hebrews from the Gentiles.

Jesus is the Light of the world.  He created the Sun, Moon and stars, the whole universe.  He placed all the planet's in our solar system to have the exact gravitational pull to keep order around the Earth's position in its orbit.  He gave us the Moon to take the edge off the darkness at night.  He gave us a shield in our atmosphere to protect us against harmful radiation from the Sun.

"Sunlight contains all colors of visible light. The particles of gas that make up Earth's atmosphere are more likely to scatter blue wavelengths of light while redder wavelengths pass through. This is called Rayleigh scattering, and it's why the sky is blue and sunrises and sunsets are often red."

He even gave us a beautiful blue sky and wonderful sunsets because He wanted us to enjoy the planet He made so lovingly for us.  It's a shock for us to be here instead of Heaven but its for a powerful purpose.  We must overcome sin in our lives to be able to live in Heaven.  No way will a spirit being like Lucifer destroy eternal life with his pride and rebellion.

We are here to have all evil expunged from our souls.  We have a prototype in Jesus Christ the Firstfruits of the new creation, born again, Spirit-filled Christians.  No longer only human, but given godly authority to walk in the Light.

1 John 1 v 7 - 9: " But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

When we are all in the same pure Light we have very easy and deep fellowship with God and each other.  When there is someone hiding his or her sins its very difficult to have true fellowship, unless they repent and confess, then the Blood of Jesus cleanses them.

People planning to live on Mars will have none of the benefits of Earth's atmosphere.  There is no water, rain, sea, lakes, animals, plants, protection, oxygen or any comforts of home.  They acknowledge the pollution of the sea and land and air is impossible to fix and want to start over on another planet.

This is not God's plan for us.  He wants the pollution in our souls to be rectified by HIs solution and no other.  He wants us home with Him in Heaven but it must be His way.  The ones singing "I did it my way" have missed the whole message.

We cannot have one foot in the Light and the other in the world.  It's all or nothing in God's plan.  He gave His all and our response should match that to perfectly fulfil the New Covenant.  God gave His life in the death of Jesus, we must die to sin and carnal worldliness achieve our part.

Grace is God's mercy in action but never assume for one moment that we can keep on sinning and grace will continue ad infinitum. As Paul says in Romans, "God forbid!".  Some preach of the never-ending grace of God, but God says the Holy Spirit will not always strive with man.

Hebrews 6 v 4 - 6: "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5  And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

Does that sound like super Grace?  Do not be deceived by preachers who appeal to the way we would like things to be.  They become popular and great influencers but they will be judged accordingly.  Rather start heeding those who nobody wants to listen to because the truth hurts.

Let there be Light in our darkness, let Jesus shine in us and through us to make a difference.  Let us be seen as sons and daughters of the Light, setting examples for others to follow on the path back to Heaven.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, we long with all our hearts for the courts of Heaven.   We have been away a long time and our spirits are dull.  Revive us O Lord with the Light of Your being, fill our minds with the life giving Word.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
