Many years ago I saw a movie, and I cannot remember its name or who was in it, but as I was seeking the Lord for what He wanted to say in today's blog, a scene from the film was brought to mind.
There was a train steaming towards a bridge over a deep and wide ravine somewhere in America, but some gang had blown up the bridge and blocked communication with the driver of the train. The hero's son was aboard heading for certain death, and he was able to send the SOS signal to him through Morse code that the bridge was down and to warn the driver. Which he did and the train stopped about one metre from the ravine.
The message Jesus is sending through me is SOS to save the people of the world from destruction and death. Through those who read it it should be shared with others who are aboard a train they think is Heaven-bound but is going to crash into a ravine because the bridge is down.
Many churches are not preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. They have changed it over many years to fit political correctness, except Jesus said quite clearly give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's. The churches have also confused abundant life with prosperity and luxurious living.
Jesus lived a humble yet abundant life. As did the apostles and early disciples. As the centuries passed and cathedrals were built first by Roman Catholics as a show of power over the peasants, then by the Church of England after Henry 8th tried to get a divorce from his barren wife, after beheading the other one, and failed. He abandoned Catholicism and started the Church of England. The foundation of this church was not truth, righteousness or love of God.
This was the first Protestant church in England. The members of it are called Anglicans. They keep some of the old concepts of the Roman Catholic Religion, but deleted the idolatrous worship of Mary, Mother of God. She was the mother of Jesus in His human form. God has no Mother. She would never want to be worshipped or prayed to, or to be called a name like Co-Redeemer! She was not assumed into Heaven like Jesus.
John Wesley came preaching the true gospel of salvation in England and he was banned from every Church of England pulpit. My father was an Anglican, choirboy in Norwich Cathedral, a Freemason, who got born again on his deathbed. Jesus is sending a message of urgency today. Many who think that being a member of a church, any church, that preaches half a gospel that saves no-one, sings beautiful hymns, some written by Wesley, has holy communion without being baptized in water, without true repentance, is the ticket on the train to Heaven are in for a shock. The Bridge is down.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 6 v 14 - 18: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
Those who follow Jesus are born again as He instructed. It starts with believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for us sinners, confessing those sins because the stark reality is that we are unclean lepers until we do. We need to forgive everyone who ever hurt, betrayed, abused, raped, cursed, murdered, disappointed, divorced, neglected, rejected or beaten us or members of our family. From our hearts - not just a quick mental assent to get it out of the way. In order to be forgiven we must first forgive. When we have done all that we ask the Father to cleanse us with the Blood of Jesus.
Any way we pollute our bodies is sin in God's eyes. Smoking, drugging, drunkenness, tattoos, getting high on snake venom, sexual sin are carnal pollution. Mental and ritual sins are fantasy, fantasy sex, Trancendental Meditation, astral projection, astrology, seances, witchcraft, religion, cults, gossip, false imaginations, laughing madness in churches (Toronto Blessing or Catch the Fire meetings).
When we have overcome all these errors, sins, evils, then Jesus will come into our hearts when we ask Him nicely.
Revelation 3 v 15 - 22: "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
These are the words of Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life and no-one comes to the Father except through Him. He said that too. He is urgently saying it again today. A clarion call because He knows that the time is short.
Any church teaching salvation that differs from this means that those who follow that teaching will not have their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Revelation 21 v 23 - 27: "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."
Only people whose name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life will enter Heaven. Everyone else is on that train and they don't know the bridge is down unless we tell them. You can find out from the Lord how to tell them. He may say send this blog far and wide. He may say become a Missionary, an evangelist, or a preacher or teacher, but shun every teaching of salvation that does not include everything written here.
Yes we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, and tears and heartbreak at times. We must not falter in our obedience and submission. We do not know exactly what is round the next corner but Jesus is warning us so we can be in safety in Him. He is the Rock and when we are secure in Him we have solid Rock protection.
He loves us so much and He sees everything and is grieved by what is going on in the Church which is His Body. His wrath, when it comes, will be upon those left behind after the Rapture. Only those who are martyred after that will be saved. So let us stop that train and tell them about Jesus. Then you have done your best and God will do the rest.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we long for the coming of Jesus to be soon but then so many will be lost. Help us to reach them O Lord so that joybells of Heaven will ring as the names being written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be called up yonder. Thank You, Jesus, for this SOS today! We will do all we can for You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
