Smith Wigglesworth was walking down a London street when he was about to pass a tall apartment block.  He clearly heard the Lord instructing him to go to the letter box opening on the main entrance door and speak the words of John 3 v 16:
"  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Ever obedient, Smith did so and was walking away when Jesus said that he must go back to the letterbox and repeat that verse with more volume.  People were starting to stare but he did as asked.  A few moments later the Lord said he must do it again but shout it as loudly as he could.

Having done so he wanted to hurry away but he heard a man shouting from 11 storeys up, asking him to come visit him immediately.  Smith went to this apartment and found a man named Harald, who had evidently been standing on a chair with a rope around a ceiling beam in a loop around his neck.

Harald told him that he was about to jump off the chair to end his worthless life when he cried out to God that if He had a purpose for him to audibly speak to him.

Moments later he heard a faint but audible voice coming out of his fireplace.  He asked for it to be louder and finally said to the Lord, if he heard it very loudly once more he would dedicate his life to serving God.

For a third time he heard the word of God, and the Lord said to him, get off the chair and call that man who is walking away.  And Harald became a dedicated preacher of the Word of God from that very day.

No matter what strange thing the Lord asks of you, just be obedient and leave the results up to Him.
