The Manifest Glory of God

Scripture: Romans 1 v 17 - 19: "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them."

John 14 v 21 - 23: "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."

John 2 v 11: "This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him."

The meaning of the word manifest is to clearly show.  Like a ship's manifest clearly shows the goods stored in the cargo hold, or in containers stacked on deck.  We may not be able to see inside the hold or container but the manifest tells us what we need to know.

The first miracle Jesus did was at a wedding in Cana where they ran out of wine.  To cover their embarrassment, Mary, His mother, asked Him to do something to help them.  So He asked the steward to fill 6 barrels with water and to draw out a cup and take it to the host.  It was declared a wine better than the earlier wine and the Feast continued.

This first miracle manifested forth His glory.  It showed that He was different to everyone around Him.  It made His disciples believe in Him.  He continued to manifest the power if God wherever He went.  The lame walked, blind eyes were opened, demented people were restored to normal, dead people came alive.  Thousands followed Him.

In Romans 1 Paul wrote that the knowledge of God was manifested to the people.  God had visited His people.  Jesus said to Thomas, If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.  Meaning that the Father is manifested in Him and through Him.  Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing.

Jesus would spend all night up a mountain communicating with His Father, and whether He saw visions or heard the voice of God, He did what the Father told Him to do.  As an example to us 2000 years later.  Spend time in prayer with Our Father and do what He says to do.  Let God's glory be made manifest through our obedience.

Now we are waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.  Definitely Moses and Elijah will be among them, and David.  Psalm 110 v 4: "The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."
Because these sons of glory are of the Order of Melchizedek, King of Salem, to whom Abraham paid tithes.  One of the outstanding features of this Order is that those who belong to it have a multiple entry visa to Earth.  They have been more than once.

Matthew 17 v 11 - 13: "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12  But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13  Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."

The Transfiguration on the Mount in Matthew 17 tells how Moses and Elijah appeared and Jesus was transfigured in all His glory before them as witnessed by Peter, James and John.  The manifested glory of God.  The power of the Transfiguration and its effects upon the disciples made the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus believable and inspirational.

The Sons of God, how many and who they are, we are waiting with bated breath to discover.  They must already be alive and living among us as Jesus was before He started His ministry.  As the time of the end draws closer they will emerge and great miracles will be done, like the two prophets in Revelation 11, causing many shake ups around the world to get people's attention.

It will be a revival that manifests God's power.  Romans 8 says the whole Earth is groaning to see the manifestation of the Sons of God.  It will be a time like no other in history.  It will bring a massive divide between the righteous and the unrighteous.  It is being seen in polls and government elections in many countries.   Huge division between left and right.  It is being seen in churches too!  In Revelation 22 it is written that the righteous will become more righteous and the filthy will become filthier still.

Jesus said that at the end the wheat and tares (weeds) would be separated and the weeds thrown onto the fire.  He was speaking of the righteous wheat and unholy tares.  He also said the sheep followed Him and the goats did not.

The people of the world manifest what type of sinner they are.  Are they liars, thieves, adulterers, molesters, rapists, alcoholics, addicts, witches, Satanists, rebels, communists, murderers, pro-abortion, the list goes on?  Jesus offers salvation to all and an opportunity to change that nature to be like Him.

If we are born again we must manifest His pure righteousness all the time.  We must be honest, kind, loving, faithful, humble, gentle, submitted to God's will and have self-control.  We must not compromise with sin or behave badly.  We must dress modestly and speak without swearing and cursing.

God's wrath is reserved for those who reject Jesus in this life and do that which is shameful and heinous in His eyes.  Only those who have a true relationship with Jesus have their names in the Lamb's Book of Life.  That is our passport, visa, one way ticket to eternal life.  No other way, no other name but Jesus, gets us there.

Today the gospel is being watered down dramatically to accommodate sinners in comfort.  "The Message" is a sad example of this.  Blogs like mine are not well received in most places as they don't have escape clauses and are uncompromising.  So examine the doctrines you are hearing with the pure Word of God in the King James version of the Bible.  The New King James is written in modern English and is worth comparing with other versions.

Let us honour and respect our Father, who sent His Son to manifest God in the flesh because He loved us and did not want to lose us.  Let us manifest our love and worship towards Him, for the great things He has done.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of Your vastness, Your Majesty, Your precious love for us and we humbly bow down and worship You.  You have manifested Your Glory to the world who have dismissed it and demeaned it.  We continue to try to persuade them and trust that You help us get it right.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
