Scripture: Zechariah 4 v 5 - 6: "Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."Acts 1 v 7 - 9: "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight."
From the very beginning of the Bible the power has been in the hands of God. The Creation v Evolution theory debate runs into a headwind when we look at the stars, planets, the whole universe.
Countless years, the time everlasting, outweigh evolution by a measure no human mind can ever comprehend. The boffins of the enlightened age cannot yet produce one blade of grass out of nothing.
According to the very first verse of Genesis when God chose the Earth as His Footstool, it was without form and void. Just a lump of rock, perfect size, waiting for His Word to change it into a habitation for the yet uncreated man. And woman.
In Genesis, the Hebrew text, the word Elohim, meaning "Gods" said, Let us create man in our image. Through the power of His Word, Jesus Christ, all things were created about 6000 years ago. Peter tells us that to God one day is like a thousand years, so let us imagine that the six days of creation took 6000 years, and we are now 22 years into the 7th millennium since then. That brings us to about 12022 years since day 1.
We know Satan usurped authority over the world when Adam and Eve, who had been given full authority, submitted to him and caused us in hindsight to see what kind of monster he is. The father of lies and the bringer of death, disease and disaster on ever human ever born, except One.
The One who Paul wrote of as the Second Man and the Last Adam. Every child born since Cain was of a fallen nature, subject to sin, an enemy of God. There were some righteous ones who really worked at it. Moses, Noah, Elijah, David, Samuel etc. are part of God's Hall of Worthy People.
Every person who is born again and baptised in the Holy Spirit has now reached the full stature of the first Adam before the fall. Jesus was the last born of the Adamic race. He changed everything.
Since the advent of trains running on coal power, and just over a century of electric power, there has been a revolution of the power of this world. Gas, oil, power stations, are the new power of this age. Right now the Russian war destroying Ukraine is all about worldly power.
One man, Vladimir Putin, has decided to flex his power and might against a less formidable and weaker country. It has cost him the favour of most of the world's nations, many of who have rejected his oil and gas, or severely diminished their demand for it. Other severe sanctions are going to restrain Russia for many years to come.
So lets say we are in a power struggle right now, but it's the unseen battle against good and evil, darkness and light, truth and lies. If we are walking with Jesus we hear Him say, it's not by might or power but by My Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that things get done.
He is the power and the glory on Earth right now. The Holy Spirit is far about oil and gas. Many hundreds of testimonies are told of cars running out of petrol far from a gas station or home, yet through prayer the power of God keeps those wheels turning.
1 Corinthians 10 v 1 - 5: "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness."
He fed the Israelites with Manna and quails for forty years. He had Moses strike a rock and water gushed out to quench the thirst of millions including cattle. Perhaps they paused to plant seeds and grow crops for the onward journey. It was a huge amount of water in the middle of a desert. He is the Creator of all things, He has the power.
We need to put our Faith in the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, given to us as a gift from the Father. This is the Godhead that indwells believers. It changes us forever. It changed me so profoundly that I would not recognise the old me if we met on the street.
In the last days before the Antichrist is destroyed by the coming of our King, He said people would be in darkness and nobody would be able to work. Christians would be taken away by this time, caught up in the Rapture by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We will be with Him when He returns because we are His Body reunited with the Head after the Rapture. We will witness His great power when with one word out of His mouth he destroys the armies of the world at Armageddon.
Two thirds of 200 million soldiers will die in one minute. The rest flee to hide from the eyes of the King of Kings who has just reclaimed Earth. He is able to now rescue Israel, His true Bride, and we will return to the Marriage Feast of the Lamb to rejoice over the victory. He is the power and the glory forever.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, So much to say and so little space but from beginning to end You are the power and the glory, the Trinity of the Elohim. We bow down and worship You in Spirit and in truth. We bless and thank You for our salvation, protection, comfort, discipline and the Holy Bible. Our eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
