"JOB is what you are 'Paid To Do'; But MINISTRY is what you are 'Born To Do'. Be aware of the difference."
- Ronnie (Ron) Millevo"What are you living for? What keeps you up at night? What burdens you? Only as you discover and live out the calling for which you were created for, will you truly be at rest.."
- Taj Pacleb
"A true man of God does not glorify himself; a true man of God glorifies Christ, because he knows it is only by grace, not by human wisdom that he is called by God."
- Mensa Otabil
"When I was a young Christian, I thought that God kept His gifts on shelves and the best gifts were on the highest shelves and I would have to reach up. I learned later the best gifts are on the lowest shelf and I had to stoop down."
- D. L. Moody
"What is your assignment? How many lives hang in the balance as a result of your calling? How many people will be blessed when you obey God? This is a call for the Jonahs to arise and go to Nineveh.
Where is your Nineveh? Whom are you sent to?"
- John Eckhardt
"God does not choose people because of their ability, but because of their availability."
- Brother Andrew ('God's Smuggler' - of Bibles to Christians behind the Iron Curtain)
"When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die."
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer
"11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
- Apostle Paul, Letter to the Ephesians.
"I have treasured your thoughtfulness to those less fortunate who have crossed your path. When you have encouraged the weary; prayed with the sick; lent help to the needy, comfort to the sorrowing, and understanding to the distressed, I count it as though you did it for Me, for I know that except for your deep love for Me, you would not make this kind of sacrifice.
Gifts may be given, prompted by many a selfish motive; but when you give yourself, often in the face of insults, returning good for evil, and yet receive further censure, this I know you have done because and only because you love Me first, and loving Me you find no place to hate any. For if a man loves God, truly he will also love his brother. And he will yet go beyond this, for he will show kindness and feel concern for the needs of even his enemies and be moved with compassion to minister aid.
Did I not say that we must go into the valley together? I have given you the enjoyment of My fellowship on the mountaintop to prepare you for the ministry in the valley of service. Take the glory of the mountaintop with you; take My presence, My light, My love. This is not the valley of personal darkness—this is the valley where you will find those who need the touch of blessing you can bring.
And I am with you, yes, more so than in any other kind of valley; for in this we are one in a very special way. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost; to seek the lost, to lift the fallen, and to heal the bruised. As you minister together with Me to those in need, you fill up that which is left of the sufferings of Christ (see Colossians 1:24)".
