Scripture: Jude v 9: "Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee."
As far as we know from scripture there were only 3 archangels in Heaven: Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer. In their dealings with mankind on Earth, Gabriel is the one who brings messages from the Throne of God. Michael is a warrior who now protects Israel. Lucifer is fallen from Grace and is our supreme enemy.
He is now known as Satan; the Devil; The Great Red Dragon. However, his status as an archangel remains and neither Michael nor Gabriel can bring an accusation against him. In the verse above, Michael could only say, the Lord rebuke you. To this day the body of Moses has never been found.
Genesis 6 v 1 - 4: " And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
The "sons of God" were God's Holy angels who manifested in fleshly bodies. Even Daniel referred to Gabriel as "the man, Gabriel" in Daniel 9 v 21. Those other sons of God lusted after the daughters of men whose children became mighty men, famous people, even giants.
Jude v 6 - 7: "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."
This is the punishment meted out to those fallen angels and to those humans who go after strange flesh. God is no respecter of persons nor angels who transgress His Holy commands.
It's is wonderful to read this morning of Mark Nelson who was miraculously saved on his deathbed pleading with God to set him free of homosexuality in 2008. He asked for prayer today on the Asbury Revival Group for strength to handle the thousands of gay people who have contacted him since his testimony appeared on the group last week. How he saw the Wind of the Holy Spirit removing every demon from him and giving him life. They all want to be set free like he was. Let us pray for him and all those seeking victory over the flesh to be truly born again.
God's Holy angels do not respond when the false teaching of sending angels to do your bidding is used or even asking God to send them. Unfortunately, those fallen angels which are not in chains do respond, but do the opposite and cause major upheaval in the Church. And in the world.
How many angels are sent to disrupt voters, candidates, potential presidents in an election year? How many angels are sent to stop Putin, stop the war in Ukraine, stop the destruction of their cities? How many angels are sent to help the victims of the Turkey/Syria earthquakes? They do the opposite, they are lying, evil spirits. Can't God stop them?
His Word says any two (believers) asking in agreement it shall be done. So no, only we can stop them, through prayer and intercession and telling the truth about it. So it's up to us to strictly obey all the commands of God. It's for our own safety and survival. In Hosea The Lord says, My people perish for lack of knowledge. They do!
Gabriel was sent to Mary to inform her that she had been chosen by God to bear Jesus, His Son, as prophesied in the Old Testament. Isaiah 7 v 14: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Immanuel means God is with us.
Luke 1 v 18 - 20: "And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season."
This was Gabriel telling Zacharias about the birth of John the Baptist. Just as he told Abram and Sarai about the coming birth of Isaac in their old age. Sarah laughed in mockery and sent Hagar her handmaid into Abram's bed. She brought forth Ishmael, who himself had 12 sons, the foundation of the Arab tribes that cause Israel so much uphill.
Isaacs son Jacob also had 12 sons and they are the Patriarchs of the 12 tribes of Israel. A raging battle to this day and beyond to the day of Armageddon.
God's Holy Angels are not to be trifled with nor prayed to. Michael is the Prince over Israel, the spiritual ruling power, that has always protected them until their disobedience ties God's hands. Because they rejected His beloved Son and called for Him to be crucified, within that generation Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed, and not a single Jew remained in Israel for 1900 years.
Our God has a set plan with appointed times. Jesus said on the day of His Ascension that we will not know the day, but we would know the season.
Acts 1 v 9 - 11: " And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."
Those two men in white apparel were holy angels of God. If they said He is coming back then we are living in the days and time of that greatly desired moment.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us the power and might of Your holy angels. Let us always respect that they are Yours alone. Let us never interfere with Your heavenly host. Father we are preparing ourselves for the day of the Lord. Help us to gather in the lost souls. In Jesus' name. Amen.
