Know Your Enemy

Scripture:  Ezekiel 28 v 12 - 15: "Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

The Archangel Lucifer was the anointed cherub which challenged Almighty God for the control of Heaven, Earth, and God Himself.

He was the most beautiful angel, highly favoured, very wise.  His very being was created with music and its instruments in its format.  He brought forth all the praise and worship of Heaven.

He was in Eden, the Heavenly garden of God, covered in all the beautiful jewels.  Lucifer was perfect until iniquity marred him.  He was spoken of in this passage as the king of Tyrus.  Jesus was known as the Prince of Peace, the highest authority on Peace in the Universe.  Satan is known as the king of Tyrus, the worst offender of tyranny.

What sin was found in him?  Pride!  He was full of pride for being so wise, beautiful, musical and bejewelled.  It caused him to challenge and confront the Father, to believe he was more able to run the universe than Him.

Isaiah 14 v 11 - 15: "Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

Jesus said, "I saw Satan fall as lightning."

It shattered Heaven from a spiritual place into "The Heavens" the billions of galaxies, stars, comets, meteors we can see at night.  They still shine and bless us with their beauty.  However, God has promised us a new Heaven, in which no sin could ever be allowed.

Satan is the father of lies and the Tempter.  He is doing everything in his power to steal every human away from the Father to populate Hell.  He is doing a good job.  We procrastinate, make excuses, feel self-conscious, fear ridicule and rejection when opportunities arise to share the gospel.  Our minds confirm that we should leave it to the professionals.

Jesus never brought anyone into the Temple to hear a sermon and get saved.  He went out to where the lost came to be healed, delivered of demons, made whole and then they would gladly listen to whatever He had to say.

The sceptical need a demonstration of God's power and presence before they stop mocking Him. The evangelists are, or should be, equipped with gifts of the Holy Spirit of healing, discernment of demons, faith and miracles.  This gets our Father and Jesus serious attention and many are added to the Church.

Acts 19 v 13 - 17: "Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
14  And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15  And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16  And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
17  And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified."

These exorcists were not born again and had no authority over evil spirits, they were just copying what they had seen Paul doing.  The demon knew Jesus and Paul, and feared them, but could do what it liked with these seven imposters.

The population in that area were afraid, became respectful of the power Christians employed and magnified Jesus.  That's how to demonstrate His power and our abilities to be like Him.  When we make Jesus real, He does the rest.

Our enemy cannot fool us if we know him and recognize his tricks.  He sees the light in us and knows its Jesus who defeated him in every possible way.  He was made vulnerable for us to keep on defeating him through the power in the name of Jesus.  Demons tremble when they hear that name.

I am reminded of a woman who was a spiritualist visiting family where we were conducting a Bible study.  When Jesus was mentioned she ran from the room and lay upon her bed.  Her son called me to go to her.  Her bed was shaking like an earthquake was happening.  The whole bed was rattling as the demons in her trembled.  Praise the Lord, He set her free.

Our God reigns forever and will never relinquish Heaven to Satan.  He was the covering cherub over this Earth.  He still has squatters rights but time is running out.  His final moments will be as the Antichrist and he will be extremely vicious for the short time he controls things.  Believers will not be bothered by Him.  The Lake of Fire is not far off.

So now is the time to rise up and be counted.  Nothing is more important to our Father and to Jesus than the salvation of souls and teaching them truth.  We are seeing results in the American revival which is still growing.  Thousands are being saved, healed and delivered of demons.  What a joyful victory.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father You have mightily blessed us with Your love and kindness.  Lord let us love and be kind to sinners that they may know the joy of salvation.  We need to know our enemy so we can overcome him.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
