Scriptures: Psalm 119 v 128 - 131: "Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
131 I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments."
Proverbs 6 v 22 - 23: "When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:" - thoughts on Wisdom and Truth
2 Peter 1 v 18 - 19: "And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"
Jesus has said emphatically, I am the way, the only way to the Father. There is one path, one way, one life. If we have found that way and are living in His fullness, then we are blessed indeed.
Then we don't fear any plague, because we know Psalm 91 v 5 - 6: "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."
Christians may be taken home by Jesus through any other illness, but we don't fear "falling asleep in the Lord" because we are subject to His will. If God wants us home with Him then He knows that the situation calls for it. Just like those two young missionaries in Haiti this week. They were murdered by a gang of thugs in a nation that over 200 years ago sold their souls to Satan. The Lord took them home. They are rejoicing in Heaven today.
We may have a little knowledge of the Bible but it can be eroded by the fowls of the air. We need strong belief to hold on to the pure Word of God. Let us remember the parable of the Sower who went out to sow seeds of truth.
Some seeds fell on stony places, some were choked by the cares of this world, some were eaten by birds and some fell on good ground bringing forth abundant fruit. We are all designated to be sowers, we are the Bible for those who have never read it.
To prepare our hearts to be this good ground we need to be seekers of truth and wary of fantasies, illusions, philosophies of men, misconceptions of false teachers, the lying words of false prophets. So many are fortune tellers in sheep's clothing.
My late husband told me of a sister in Christ who had received a prophecy saying that within three months a family member would die, but it turned out to be herself. This is not how the Holy Spirit works. He says 'If you do not repent you will surely die.' Do you see the difference. The one is destructive the other gives hope. When you believe the words of false prophets and do not check those words with Jesus, He cannot prevent what you believe from occurring.
I was on a weekend retreat with a lovely Christian family with a beautiful godly daughter. During the one meeting I saw a woman approach the mother of this girl and start prophesying over her. I could not hear the words she said but I discerned a false prophecy. A little later I said to this mother, whatever she prophesied over you do not accept it. She absolutely disagreed with me and said she believed she received a warning that her daughter was going to turn against Christianity. This was eight years ago. I begged her to disregard those words but she never did. Today that beautiful girl is a drug addict serving Satan in a coven.
What and Who we put our faith in is what our spiritual direction will be. If we are misled the Lord will try to help you. The Holy Spirit will do everything He can to bring truth to you. If you continually reject His help the day will come when He has moved on.
Hebrews 6 v 4 - 6: "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
This totally contradicts those who preach "Super Grace" and they may end up with those wailing and gnashing their teeth on the Day of Judgment. If you believe in Super Grace meaning if you continue sinning after salvation without repentance and allowing the Lord to change you, you are still completely forgiven. Then why did Jesus go to the Cross? Know the Word. Check out everything you hear across the pulpit.
Lot was vexed by the filthy conversations all around him. He was rewarded by being led out of Sodom and Gomorrah by the Angel of the Lord before those evil cities were wiped out by God's wrath. Those who are following the Woke agenda are in great danger. God does not change His mind about sin.
To sow the Word is the only way to spread the knowledge of Jesus to the lost. We cannot just sit smugly in our own salvation while people we know and love are living in fear living in sin, living in the darkness of this world.
The Word is the lamp to keep our feet on the right path. The more we read the Bible and apply its wisdom to our lives the safer we are as we sojourn through this world to our eternal home.
Before we know Jesus Christ all we might have are crumbs of truth which do not sustain us when we are starving. We need solid teaching to survive the impact of the many deceptions constantly confronting us or we will become captured and caged; eventually in danger of losing our souls.
Deliverance from evil will come from Jesus as we follow the truth of His Word back to the path we strayed from. So put your faith in God. Do not neglect to thoroughly know all that is written in the Bible as it is the Bread of Life to your soul. The depth of your relationship with Jesus is directly proportional to the time you spend understanding, and doing, what is stated in the Bible.
Prayer: Heavenly Father thank You for Jesus who is a lamp to our feet through the darkness of this world. Let the solid wisdom of Your Word lead us to the truth. There is only one way. In Jesus' name. Amen.
