Scripture: Hebrews 7 v 1 - 4: "For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils."
The above passage about the mysterious priest, Melchizedec, also known as King of Salem meaning King of Peace, gives us some insight into his nature.
He was made like unto the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace. He did not originate on Earth. No parents or ancestors, no birth or death, but was so great that Abraham paid him tithes of all his gains.
In Psalms King David was known as one who was of the Order of Melchizedec. Psalm 119 v 2 - 4: " The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."
David was much beloved of God even though he was very disobedient at times. He always repented quickly and found favour with the Lord. David could fearlessly tackle Goliath the Giant and kill him with one stone from his slingshot. The Lord told him he would always have a lineage that sat on the throne of Israel.
This even extends to the time after the Rapture for the 1000 years of Peace, the 7th Millennium, is also known as the Throne of David upon which Jesus shall sit. Prince of Peace, Order of Melchizedec.
Peace is the outstanding feature of this Order of priests, kings and prophets. There are two others mentioned in the Bible who could be included in this priesthood.
The Prophet Elijah did not have end of days, nor did Enoch, as God took them whilst still alive in chariots of fire. Elijah has also been identified in the New Testament as John the Baptist, of whom Jesus said he was the greatest prophet who ever lived.
Genesis 14 v 18 - 20: "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all."
This was Abraham's encounter with Melchizedec. He had some kind of ceremony with bread, wine and worship of the most high God. It sounds almost like Jesus at the Last Supper instituting Communion before Judas betrayed Him.
Looking just a little deeper into the Order of Melchizedec, we can determine that it comprises people who have a multiple visa to Earth. Not as reincarnation, an occult teaching, but certainly Elijah, Moses and Jesus have been more than once.
Reincarnation, and other occult or false teachings like divination, levitation, astral projection, etc. These are counterfeits Satan has invented to give an alternative to the true Godly reality. So the opposite of reincarnation is what? It's being born again of water and spirit, and can also include some chosen people visiting Earth more than once.
Think of the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17. Jesus appeared with Moses and Elijah as seen by Peter, James and John. A bright cloud overshadowed them with the voice of God spoke out of the cloud, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear Ye him. Jesus said they should not tell anyone about what they had seen until after His resurrection.
Matthew 17 v 10 - 13: "And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."
In Revelation 11 John is told by an Angel about the two witnesses who will prophesy for 1260 days. He says they are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before God. Connect it with Zechariah 4 v 11 - 14: "Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."
These two prophets, two witnesses, who appear at the beginning of the second half of the Great Tribulation, called The Wrath of the Lamb, are generally expected to be Moses and Elijah.
There was another astonishing event after Jesus was crucified. Matthew 27 v 50 - 54: "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."
When the Roman venturing and his squad saw this sequence of events they were shocked and afraid and declared that Jesus Christ was truly the Son of God. What they had not seen because it happened some days later, was the graves of those who believed He would come.
The earthquake had opened the graves of long dead believers and when Jesus was resurrected so were they! They came out of their graves and were seen by many walking around in various places. They made their was to Jerusalem where Jesus collected them to go with Him to Heaven.
John 20 v 14 - 17: "And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."
This was when Jesus took the resurrected saints of old to present them to our Father in Heaven. She was not able to touch Him for some reason but when He returned He could walk through walls, appear and leave supernatural, and be touched without problem.
Ephesians 4 v 7 - 10: "But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)"
Fascinating things to ponder upon and anticipate happening in the near future. The resurrection of the old saints coming out of their graves in Israel is the legal precedent for the Rapture. The dead in Christ shall rise first, the living saints will follow.
Already the number of babies being born has decreased which means the number of souls waiting to come to Earth is nearly at an end. Time is running out and our greatest joy is knowing that our God is in full control of every event.
Our salvation, our escape from this planet into Heaven, is just ahead of us. What a wonderful life lies ahead. Let us bring as many people with us to enjoy the blessing. The Melchizedec story is real and has affected us today because there are some alive on Earth right now who are the Sons of God, all of this Order, who are waiting in the wings to appear at the right time to help in amazing ways. Jesus is coming back very soon. Hallelujah Give Him Glory!
Prayer: Heavenly Father we try to put together the intriguing jigsaw puzzles in Your Word to see the big picture at least in part. It helps us to know You and Your love for us in a fuller, more personal way. Help us to fill the gaps in our understanding that we do not err in our interpretations. Open the doors into those with stubborn hearts so we may reach them for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name. Amen.
