Scripture: Daniel 5 v 4 - 7: "They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom."
Galatians 6 v 7 - 8: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."
It is a rather well-used expression "the writing is on the wall" and its taken to mean that something very momentous, usually bad, is about to occur. In the original experience in Daniel's day, Nebuchadnezzar the king was about to lose his throne.
This Babylonian king had taken captive many Israelites plus many treasures from the Temple in Jerusalem, which temple they destroyed. On this night the king decided to use the golden goblets taken from the temple to praise his own gods. In the same hour he saw a hand write the fateful words "Mene Mene tekel upharsin" which neither he nor his sorcerers nor his astrologers could interpret. Eventually Daniel was brought because in him was an excellent spirit and he could interpret dreams.
The interpretation of the writing on the wall is given. You are found wanting; your kingdom is finished; it is divided between the Medes and Persians. In the same night the king of Babylon died. He had chosen to call on agents of Satan, astrology and psychic mediums, instead of the one true God. We all have a choice to make before our lives are up.
What do we learn from this event? Firstly, it is very unwise to mock God by abusing His people, His Temple and its golden vessels. Whether Christians or Israelis, the Lord God favours His people. It's amazing to see recent reports of thousands of Iranians, previously Persians, rejecting Islam for Christianity.
It is very unwise to mock true born again Christians who are submitted to God's holy will and doing their best to save the rest of humanity i.e. those who will experience first hand their own writing on the wall if they do not wake up to the reality of this world situation.
We are without doubt going through the birth pangs of the closing stages of the end of this world as we know it. The New Age plan of Satan is well established. The Woke Generation are frightening in their spiritual blindness.
One day soon we will have a One World Government using One Currency and under One Religion. We will have absolute peace on Earth. For a short time. Then the Son of Perdition that Man of Sin will be revealed. He is the Antichrist who will command every human to have a mark 666 in their right hand or in their forehead.
Without the mark you cannot buy nor sell. No food, water, electricity, new clothes, gas or petrol. Everyone who takes this mark will be excluded from Heaven. Its the ultimate standoff between God and Satan. By this time the Christians will have left this planet in the Rapture by the grace of God.
Satan the Serpent in Eden lied to Eve, twisting God's warning that they must not eat the forbidden fruit or they would surely die. He said .... "4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." Genesis 3. In other words she would be Woke and persuade Adam likewise. Satan is still twisting God's Word today. He hates truth.
Whatever abomination eating that poisoned apple meant it led to them being expelled from God's presence even causing Him to forever guard the Tree of Life with a designated Angel. Within a thousand years He had to wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah, and then flood the whole world even regretting that He had made man. When Jesus hung on that tree of death He cried It Is Finished! The LIFE has been reinstated through His removing that sin and opening the door to the Throne of God for everyone.
For the world the writing is on the wall if you reject the salvation of Jesus. Or if you return to your sinful ways after you were born again. You lose the presence of God by your mockery of His love and forgiveness.
You will still make Heaven if you refuse the mark of the Beast and are martyred for your faith. First it was the blood of animals that covered the Jew's sins for one year - The Day of Atonement. Then the Blood of Jesus covered believer's sins once off for all sin. If we reject His salvation, He is unable to force us.
In the end only your own blood will do. Those who believe in an all-loving Father who will relent and sovereignly forgive the whole world need to rethink this idea. Otherwise the death of Jesus on Golgotha was a fairytale.
In the last days there will be mockers and scoffers saying where is the promise of His coming because nothing has changed. If they don't know Him before He comes, they will never get the opportunity to know Jesus. On the Day of Judgment they will hear the fateful words from His mouth, I never knew you! That is the danger of mockery.....The consequences of eternity in the lake of fire.
Our Father loves us and is very patient not willing for any to perish. Satan accuses every one of us continually before the Throne of God. Jesus is our Advocate if we are born again. He stands before the Father and says that sin is on Me. The Father says You paid the penalty, case dismissed. If the accused is not born again, or is a backslidden believer, Satan has the legal right to inflict that sinner with pain, disease, loss, tragedy, imprisonment or death.
Yes Christians die too in earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, murders, car accidents and of diseases. That's our time to be called home to Heaven. A time of love, blessing and rejoicing. We pass instantly into the presence of God in Heaven. There is no such place as Purgatory.....another mockery that will be judged harshly by the Lord.
Lord if we have ever mocked You or others, or if we have used Your name as a curse word, forgive us and cleanse us with Your Blood. We will change our ways immediately and forever and never allow mockery of You in our presence again.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. You want everyone to be saved and home with You but not everyone is willing to walk in Jesus' footsteps and follow His teachings. Help us, O Lord, to bring Your truth to them before they have to see the writing on the wall and weep for eternity. Lord, many people mock Jews and Christians for their faith but You have the last laugh. Show them the truth before it's too late. In Jesus' name. Amen.
