Scripture: John 8 v 31 - 32: "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
The late Dave Hunt said that the above scriptures revealed three things about truth and scripture :
"1. God's Word is 100 percent true without any error ("my word...the truth");
2. All truth is in God's Word ("ye will know the truth," not part of the truth); and
3. Knowing the truth is contingent upon obedience to the authority of God's Word ("if ye continue in my word"—obviously not just reading or memorizing but obeying).
These attributes of Scripture (inerrancy, sufficiency and authority) are like the legs of a three-legged stool: remove any one and the whole cannot stand."
In these days when the Antichrist, the Father of Lies, is rapidly rising, and fake news, misinformation, rumour and untruths abound, we need one absolute truth to hold on to.
John 14 v 6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Jesus is the truth, as stated from His own lips about Himself. Adding that nobody comes to the Father except through Him. Jesus is the Door. There is no other way, no other Name through which we can be saved and have eternal life.
In all aspects of life people seek freedom. Freedom from oppression, from poverty, from deadly diseases, from insecurity. Freedom fighters are also known as terrorists because they never get truly free of any oppression. Governments keep the poor oppressed by taxation, inflation and poor service delivery. They trot out their "new agenda for economic recovery" just before elections to get your votes.
A good example is the continuous outcry in Britain against every horrendous decision by the Labour government. They got voted in by a landslide because they promised not to tax the working man. They have broken every promise without even blushing. There is no freedom from the lies they told. Truth brings freedom. The South African government are no better living lavishly while their dwindling voters suffer in squalid shacks.
This Earth has been poisoned, polluted, and pounded by storms, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. It's virtually on life-support. But after the Great Tribulation there comes the 1000 years of peace and restoration, which Jesus will bring to us and we will be here to do our part. We are seeing the birth pangs of the Tribulation that Jesus said would come.
Unpredictable extreme storms, major damage, loss of life. Famine in Africa. And much more. No matter what the politicians tell you its not really going to improve. And they all know it. It's like trying to stop a tsunami with an hundred plastic buckets. Only Jesus can rescue His people by removing us before it hits. And He will because He is the TRUTH that sets us free.
But we must live in truth, share it and never compromise it. We cannot blend truth and lies, that is totally unacceptable. We cannot serve God and Mammon (the world).
Numbers 3 v 4: "And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father."
This strange fire is very common today. It is manifested in the blending and mixing of religions into the One World Church. As the word says .... Interfaith. And its the false rock upon which the Antichrist will build the One World Church. Or Chrislam! Or many sects that deviate from Biblical Truth. Including and especially Roman Catholicism. They are busy rewriting the Bible to remain relevant. They are including all their twisted doctrines, idolatry, purgatory, dead people becoming saints, transubstitution of the Communion wafer into the actual body of Jesus. The Spanish Inquisition demanded you believe that or perish through cruel tortures. And much more. They have recently demoted Mary from being Co-Redeemer with Jesus.
They hated William Tyndale who translated the ancient Biblical texts into English. There were many martyrs in the 16th century who died for even reading the English version of the Bible or praying the Lord's Prayer aloud! Not long ago in England a Christian man, Mr Adams, was found guilty of an offence for publicly having a silent prayer for his dead son.
The plan is already in action in Communist China where the state-run Three Self Church is the only one allowed. However, in every village and town throughout China there is a thriving Spirit-filled Christian ministry that was birthed by the Holy Spirit without Bibles or any other literature. It's an underground movement the authorities are desperate to control. It is based in the Truth and protected by Him.
The Bible is The Word and Jesus Christ is The Word. He is The Word made flesh, manifested as a Man. The more we know and read the Word, the more we come to know Jesus.
So the remnant of Believers in Jesus is caught between Communism, Catholicism, Islam and a bunch of other religions. At Interfaith meetings Christians are urged not to say the name of Jesus but rather use "God". Otherwise other faiths get offended. Jesus offends them.
2 John v 7 - 11: "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."
The only ones that really take offense are the demon spirits that control the false religions. The name of Jesus has such power that the demons tremble with fear. They know what havoc that name will cause. So did the Pharisees after the ascension of Jesus.
Acts 4 v 16 - 20: "Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."
So beloved believers we need to go on a Truth offensive and speak, pray, and praise the name of Jesus. Let us frighten the Devil and his demons back to Hell. We have the power and the truth to shake this world and turn it upside down for His glory. Let's make Jesus real to those who deny Him. Let's testify of the great things He has done for us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have sent the Holy Spirit so that we can be witnesses to Jesus, to declare His name and truth. We are Your ambassadors, who must promote Your Kingdom. Help us get this right O Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
