New Year's Resolutions

Scripture:

2 Peter 3 v 14: "Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless."

When I woke up this morning I asked Jesus for a word for 2015 and immediately got the scripture verse above! I thought it was a perfect response as only Jesus can give.

If you read the preceding verses it describes the end of the world and the promise of new heavens and a new earth. This is for true believers in Jesus who will be caught away from this earth long before the final fiery destruction, into a new heaven.

I have long believed that when satan fell from Heaven because SIN was found in him, it caused the Heaven we came from to be shattered into The Heavens which populate space - planets, stars, comets, galaxies, black holes - which we want to explore and conquer.

Elements of Heaven became part of our Earth and other planets. Do you know that diamonds rain down like hail on two planets in our Solar System? Saturn and Jupiter.

Why do silver and gold, precious stones, platinum and uranium have such high value, monetary and emotional for us? It's because they provoke memories of our long forgotten Heavenly home, where there was no evil, sin, fighting, disease or death. It was the abode of God our Father and filled with peace and righteousness.

When Jesus lived on earth He did many things to provoke our memories of the kingdom of God. He told one - if you have seen Me you have seen the Father. The nature of Jesus is the exact nature of His Father who is also Our Father.

Jesus paid the extreme sacrifice to make a way for us to be reconciled to our Father. He laid down His life so that sinners could be converted into saints. We cannot enter Heaven with any sin in our souls or flesh, we have to be spotless and blameless to be restored to God.

So for our resolution for this New Year take stock of the way your life resembles spotless and blameless living and make adjustments where necessary. Don't try to fix everything in one day but take things one at a time. Allow the Cross of Jesus to work righteousness and peace into you. Allow the Blood of Jesus to cleanse you of all sin. Submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee.

The Word says draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you. Live your life every day as though it were your last. How mindful would you be if you knew that before the next sunrise you would be required to give an account of your relationship with Jesus?

I wish you every blessing for 2015 that you and your families would draw closer to Jesus and each other; that you would be kind to the needy and humble before God. In Jesus' precious love, Brenda.
