Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10 v 3 - 5: "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
The U.S.A. have sent a warning to Americans living in or near Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Port Elizabeth to stay away from malls in those cities during the Muslim month of Ramadan, which starts tonight when the crescent moon is first sighted from the Middle East. The psychopathic fanatics known as ISIS, IS or Daesh, plan to attack malls where Americans frequently shop to continue their reign of terror.
They call America "The Great Satan" because they lead the world in counter-terrorism against Islamic Militants. They feel justified in their 'jihad' or holy war against Jews, Christians, Americans, and whoever gets caught in the cross fire. They kill the men and capture the girls to become Muslim wives for their hormonal troops.
In James it says the Prayer of a righteous man achieves much. So those who believe in the power of prayer, and are living righteous lives, need to shine up their spiritual weapons that are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. ISIS is a stronghold that needs pulling down through prayer. We cannot just pray, Lord protect us while we hide under the bed!
We need to pray in one mind and spirit to move the heart of God. Before we begin, we first need to eliminate soulish prayer such as sending forth angels to stop them. The only angels that people have power over are the devil's angels, or demons. So sending them just makes the problem worse!
A spiritual stronghold is when evil spirits, called Rulers of darkness, control a person or group to achieve a satanic purpose!! Ephesians 6 v 12: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
We are urged to take on the whole armour of God to enable us to withstand evil: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. When you are clothed with those garments you are ready for spiritual warfare. Your weapons are mighty! They are the gifts of the Holy Spirit which are found in 1 Corinthians 12.
For the battle against Islamic Militants we will need the discerning of spirits to determine the nature of our battle. When the Holy Spirit reveals to you which Rulers of Darkness you need to deal with, then you bind them and rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ. He says the demons are subject to us and we have the right to expel them. If you don't get any identities, then just pray against any spirits that possess the militants to be bound from harming anybody. Jesus will hear and respond.
When we pray like that it weakens the nerve of those who bring terror to our shores. The alert is worldwide for the month of Ramadan, but very particularly for South Africa. So wherever you may be, pray for calm in every place.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that people are alert to violent threats against us so we have time to pray Your will over Satan's plans. He comes to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give us life. We choose His life and His ways to preserve peace. Father hear every prayer and when the enemy comes against us one way, let him flee in seven ways scattered and defeated. In Jesus' name. Amen.
