Wait on the Lord

Scripture:  Isaiah 40 v 31:  "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

We understand that to wait on the Lord has several meanings; wait on Him as a servant would, obeying  every command, and carrying out every task to His satisfaction.  It also means to wait patiently for Him to answer our prayers; as well as to wait for His return.

There is yet another way of interpreting the word WAIT!  W is Wisdom, A is Anointing, I is Instruction, T is Timing.  This certainly will renew our spiritual strength and prevent weariness.

Wisdom is seeing things through God's eyes and mind and applying His solutions to the problems around us.  This is because He has infinite wisdom while the wisdom of man is finite, or limited to his ability.  So we need to seek the infinite wisdom through prayer and fellowship with Jesus.

When we lay our problems and needs before Him, He instantly knows the solution, but to convey it to us He first needs to conquer our preconceived ideas of fixing it.  What He has to show us is so completely different to our ways, that He must renew our minds according to His Word.  When that is accomplished, then His wisdom kicks in.

His anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit, Who prepares us for every Christian endeavour, and strengthens us for it.  The anointing is unique to every person, but when you are in a group there is a corporate anointing that harmonises the people into one Spirit.  You just flow.

From my earliest walk with the Lord till today I have been fulfilling one task i.e. since the end of the 70's till now.  It has multiple facets and sub-tasks that weave a fabric of great blessings into a simple life.  A huge part of it was the revelation of the Bride of Christ intertwined with the miracle of Karen Ann.  Basically everything in my life and ministry grows from those two events.  The best is yet to come.

Spiritual instruction is vital to learning to wait correctly.  Waiting does not mean inactivity, waiting is a time of learning and growing.  We are like seeds planted in good soil, being watered with knowledge we will grow and soon become visible as the plant we will become.  Our Father will prune and tend this plant to fulfil its place in His garden.

Timing.  This aspect is truly crucial to God's plans for us.  Our impatience causes us to rush into things without proper consideration of the consequences.  We must follow the Lord and His plan, like a builder following an architect's drawings.  You can't put the roof on till the walls are up.  It takes perfect timing to build a project correctly.  Let not our work be discarded by being too idle or too hasty.  Do it His way and be blessed.

Prayer: Father God, let us learn to wait upon You, and run with patience, so we are not wearied nor discouraged.  We each have solemn responsibilities to carry out for You.  Let us use Your wisdom, anointing, instruction and timing to do a perfect job.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
