A Glimpse of Heaven

Scripture: Revelation 7 v 9:  "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;"

Revelation 7 v 14 - 17: "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
 15  Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
 16  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
 17  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."


Our God has prepared a place for us where we can dwell with Him and Jesus forever, where we will want for nothing and never be sad or have any reason to cry.  It's a place of everlasting joy, a kingdom without end.

We will be clothed in robes of righteousness, sinless through the blood of Jesus. He was our Passover Lamb. He was even born in the special stable where they kept the spotless lambs set apart for the Passover feast. 

He was the Lamb who was sacrificed on Passover. The first night of Passover there is a feast. This was the Last Supper which He shared with His disciples before His betrayal and arrest.  

We should keep a Christian version of the Passover annually which is more relevant to our salvation than Easter and chocolate eggs.  They pertain to a Roman goddess called Oestre, a Fertility Goddess, from which we get the word oestrogen.

The second night of Passover is another feast. This is the day Jesus was sacrificed. God instituted the original Passover to set Israel free of slavery to Egypt through the slaying of every firstborn male child or animal not under protection of the blood of lambs on the doors of their houses. 

At the very same time that the Jewish priests were selecting the lamb for their Passover sacrifice, Jesus was on trial and declared innocent by Pontius Pilate. At the same moment the priest's slew their lamb, God's sacrificial Lamb was dying on the Cross.  

1 Corinthians 5 v 7 - 8: "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 
 8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

That was in commemoration of a physical event which caused Pharoah to command the Jews to depart from Egypt. The Egyptians were so amazed at God's power that they gave the Jews fabulous wealth of jewels and goods as they left.

Spiritually Christians have to depart from Egypt - the world system. God will bless our obedience and faith by supplying all our needs. The blood of Jesus gives us life as He took all sin and death for us. If we are obedient we will grow quickly. If not we will wander in the wilderness of doubt and despair until we do obey.

The Israelites entered Canaan the land of promise after crossing the river Jordan. They had been in great tribulation in Egypt for 400 years, and in the wilderness for a further 40. This Canaan was the land flowing with milk and honey.  This was Heaven to them.  The land given to Abraham for the Jews.
Romans 9 v 7 - 8: " 7  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
 8  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

Therefore the other seed of Abraham, Ishmael, born of Hagar, who also had 12 sons, whose descendants are all the Arab nations, who wish to claim Israel as their own and destroy every Jew, are completely wrong.  God says only the Jews who descended from Isaac's bloodline are the real Jews.

To get a glimpse of Heaven we have to be born a Jew or be born again of water and blood, cleansed of sin, before we can even perceive Heaven.  It's not Valhalla, Nirvana nor any pagan heaven, it is the abode of Our Father and of Jesus, who is the only way into it. On Judgment Day there will be much sorrow and gnashing of teeth as religious priests and holy men and all their deceived followers are consigned to eternal fire.  The only ones allowed in are born again Christians who have lived in obedience to God, or Jews who believe in God.

Billions of people of all nations, colours, tongues who have believed in Jesus were seen by John in Heaven. Its the ultimate victory for God and us. No more suffering, disease, death, sorrow, affliction, hurt, damage or heartbreak. In Corinthians it says that  we cannot begin to imagine the wonders God has prepared for us in Heaven. We will be surrounded by those we love and long for who have gone before us.

Please keep in mind that Jesus is the Head and Christians are His body, which will be caught up to unite with Him in the sky during the Rapture. This will complete the Bridegroom who will come to rescue Israel, His chosen Bride, from the battle of Armageddon. The Marriage Feast will start when we are joined to Jesus and continue after He has re-united with His long lost Bride. What a day of rejoicing that will be!

Prayer:  Father God, how we all long for that day when we are finally all united and full of wonder at the treasures of Heaven. The joy of being part of Jesus and finally restored to Him is bubbling within us. The wonder of reunion with His chosen beloved Bride and eternity surrounded by Your presence is beyond our ability to imagine. However, we are so ready to leave this world behind and discover your Kingdom. We wait and watch with great anticipation. In Jesus' name. Amen.
