Bread of Heaven

Scripture: John 6 v 29 - 33: "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30  They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
31  Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world."

The Israelites led by Moses through the wilderness experienced miracles continuously.  In that forty year journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, which should have taken forty days, they lost their way through sin, but God gave them manna from Heaven, which fell upon them six nights a week.  It was a white substance that fell like dew on the ground but tasted like bread.

When the disciples reminded Jesus of how God fed their ancestors with bread from heaven, Jesus told them that He was the true bread that came down from heaven.  He said He is the bread of life, which gives life to the world.

In every country on Earth bread is part of the staple daily diet of most people.  It sustains our lives and nourishes us.  But Jesus says that those who come to Him shall never hunger, and those who believe in Him shall never thirst.  He is speaking of a spiritual condition called a hunger for righteousness and a thirst for truth.  He is the answer to both those needs.

When we bring our needs before the Bread of Life, He hears us and has answers for us.  He says, Fear not for I am with you to break the power of evil and restore justice.  I will feed the poor and give those who thirst for truth, the living water to drink.

A situation has been created that requires us to go to Jesus for answers for our future lives.  He has promised us everlasting life in Heaven with Him if we continue to do the will of the Father.  His will is that we believe in Jesus, His Son, who was sent from Heaven to meet the needs of the world.  How many truly trust Him to meet every need?  How many need to make their own survival plan and never give Him a chance to show what He is capable of?

So we need to measure our spiritual lives with the yardstick of our Faith.  We want to move the mountains of problems into the sea which requires faith the size of a mustard seed.  Do we have that much faith?  What is faith really?  In Jude we hear of the faith of the disciples.

Jude v 3 - 5: "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not."

He says we must earnestly fight for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, but which has been compromised by false teachers, watered down to nothing, and which causes their own destruction.  The saints are the believers, and the disciples alive at the time of Jesus turned the world upside down with their faith, miracles, healings and preaching.

We are living in the age where there is a falling away through tradition, doctrines of men, false prophets and unbelief.  Jesus said to His disciples, When I return will I find faith on Earth?

The Antichrist is rising!  I have just read about the death of Salah Barghouti, the son of the leader of Hamas terrorists, who died yesterday when trying to flee from the Israeli Defence Force sent to capture the perpetrators that severely wounded 7 people and killed a baby in the womb.  Baby survived a few days but also died yesterday.

Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, will not tolerate such evil.  He who prevented the woman caught in the act of adultery from being stoned to death will not tolerate the murder of the innocent.  I mean, if she was caught in the act of adultery, where was the man who was with her? Why wasn't he being stoned right along side her?

The will of the Father is that we love justice.  To be just to all we must first face our own standards of fairness.  We must assess things through God's eyes and point of view, backed up by the Bible and its high moral standards.  Perhaps Jesus wrote in the sand to those men about to stone the sinful woman, Anyone who even looks upon a woman in a sexual way, has committed adultery with her! Then He says, He who is without sin may cast the first stone!  And they all dropped their stones and walked away.

Have we looked upon the opposite sex and desired a sexual encounter with them?  Movies, books, porn, fantasies are full of enticement and temptation to sin.  It is so commonplace that it no longer looks like sin but is accepted as normal.  Not so many preachers even use the word sin anymore.  They just want to uplift people and make them feel good about attending church.

Well, when the Rapture happens and all those compromisers are left behind together with their happy people, what will they tell them, their adoring fans?  Sorry, I made a mistake?  Our Father has laid down the guidance for us all to avoid sin and embrace what is right.  He sent Jesus to feed us the bread of truth.  It is written.

Some people think that I am full of gloom and doom because I speak the truth.  I cannot comfort people with lies and still stand in the presence of the Almighty.  Nothing will make me forsake the joy of being surrounded by His glory!

If I don't write things that make you happy because you don't like to label sinful things as sin, you had better find someone else to cheer you up.  When God calls it sin, and the Bible calls it sin, not all the legislation in the world, not all the political correctness of the new world order, can cancel out a word of it.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.  All other ways of salvation, gurus, false prophets, idols, religions, cults, lifestyles, fashions, spiritualists, mediums and magicians will lead to destruction and Hell.  Jesus said, You must be born again!  No other way, dogma, tradition or Churchianity will save your soul.

He wants everyone to know the truth and be saved.  But we must all come to Him on His terms and surrender to His Lordship over us.  He is the Bread sent from Heaven to feed us with how to get to where He came from.  Do you think when little children ask, Mummy, where did I come from that they want to know about birds and bees?  They still have a faint memory of Heaven and want to get back there!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending the Bread of Heaven to feed us truth.  He poured out His life for us and many do not receive it.  Use us O Lord to feed the hungry with this eternal life and the words that bring salvation.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
