The Only Way

Scriptures: Psalm 119 v 128 - 131: "Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
129  Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130  The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
131  I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments."

Proverbs 6 v 22 - 23: "When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
23  For the commandment is a lamp; and the law islight; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:"

2 Peter 1 v 18 - 19: "And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"

Jesus has said emphatically, I am the way, the only way to the Father.  There is one path, one way, one life.  If we have found that way and are living in His fullness, then we are blessed indeed.

Then we don't fear Covid-19, or any plague, because we know Psalm 91 v 5 - 7: "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."

Christians may be taken home by Jesus through this or any other illness, but we don't fear it because we are subject to His will.  If God wants us home with Him then He knows that the situation calls for it.

We may have a little knowledge of the Bible but it can be eroded by fowls. We need strong belief to hold on to the pure Word of God.  Remember the parable of the Sower who went out to sow seeds of truth.  Some fell on stony places, some were choked by the cares of this world, some were eaten by birds and some fell on good ground bringing forth abundant fruit.

To prepare our hearts to be this good ground we need to be seekers of truth and wary of fantasies, illusions, philosophies of men, misconceptions of false teachers.  Lot was vexed by the filthy conversations all around him.  He was rewarded by being led out of Sodom and Gommorah by the Angel of the Lord before those evil cities were wiped out by God's wrath.

The Word is the lamp to keep our feet on the right path.  The more we read the Bible and apply its wisdom to our lives the safer we are as we sojourn through this world to our eternal home.

Before we know Jesus Christ all we might have are crumbs of truth which do not sustain us when we are starving. We need solid teaching to survive the impact of the many deceptions constantly confronting us or we will become captured and caged; eventually in danger of losing our souls.

Deliverance from evil will come from Jesus as we follow the truth of His Word back to the path we strayed from. So put your faith in God.  Do not neglect to thoroughly know all that is written in the Bible as it is the Bread of Life to your soul.  The depth of your relationship with Jesus is directly proportional to the time you spend understanding, and doing, what is stated in the Bible.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank You for Jesus who is a lamp to our feet through the darkness of this world. Let the solid wisdom of Your Word lead us to the truth.   There is only one way.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
