How Great is Our God

Scripture: Isaiah 40 v 9 - 12: "O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10  Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11  He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
12  Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?"

Isaiah 40 v 25 - 26: "To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26  Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth."

Our Father in Heaven has always been, and will always be, a Spirit.  He existed before the worlds were formed, planets, stars, moons, galaxies.

He measured the universe by the breadth of His hands, and in the hollow of His hand were all the waters of seas, rivers, lakes, dams and that which became permanent ice around the North and South poles.

All the dust of the Earth and every heavenly body composed of it was measured in His hands.  He created every star, and named each one, and none of them have failed Him.  Can we even comprehend His size?

However, God the Father spoke and His Son fulfilled those words.  Colossians 1 v 12 - 18: "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."

Jesus Christ is also known as the Word of God.  Every word God has spoken is who Jesus is.  John 1 v 1 - 3:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  The same was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

We were made by Him, and all believers are members of His Body, of which He is the Head.  We have been translated from darkness of sin to light of life.  Or from certain eternal death to the glory of the Kingdom of God for all eternity.  And we have free will to make the right choice.

All unbelievers who fail to see the awesomeness of God, who discard His Word, who gamble on the mercy of if He exists He will not discard anyone, face an eternity without light, life, joy, peace or love.  It's the task of every Christian to talk them out of it.

We cannot see our great God who is larger than the Universe, but we can know Him through Jesus, who is made in His image.  Jesus is like a microdot of God that contains all knowledge about Him, Heaven, Satan and why we are here!  Many people know and worship the microdot version without opening it to receive and explore the vast treasures it contains.

When we read, study, fast, meditate and obey the Word of God, the Bible, that's when the microdot opens and God reveals Himself in love, truth and revelations.  That's when the Holy Spirit, our Teacher, opens up His gifts and leads us in pastures green, fresh every morning.  It bubbles up in us and we gravitate towards those who desire to talk about our wonderful God and worship Him in Spirit and truth.

John 4 v 23 - 24: "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Please bear in mind that everything that happens on Earth is a consequence of the two kingdoms that control it.  The Kingdom of God consists of born again people, filled with the Holy Spirit, who are called saints and are lovingly engaged in saving souls, healing the sick, casting out demons.

The other is the kingdom of Satan that rules the world of sinners, filled with lust, bitterness, hatred, lies, addictions, error and rejection of Jesus Christ.  God loves the world so much that He sent Jesus to make a way for them to escape.  Each one of us that is born again is one that escaped and was translated from darkness to light.

Our God is mighty and beyond comprehension in size but He grieves over sin and sinners who bring death, evil, corruption to the beautiful Earth He created for us.  He warns us repeatedly to stay true to His Word and walk the strait and narrow path or reap the consequences.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father we open our hearts to You that we may continually walk in Your light.  We shun profane words and idle babble to rather be refreshed by Your truth and righteousness.  Help us to help others find their way to You through Jesus Christ.  In Jesus' name. Amen.
