Scripture: Revelation 22 v 19: "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book."
The name CHRIST means The Anointed One. The One God the Father anointed to carry out a unique mission. All those who follow Jesus Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit are anointed. This means that His followers are anointed to fulfil the plans God has sent us to do.
So what are the things that cause the flow of the anointing to dry up? Its important to guard ourselves against any blocks so that the work of God proceeds without hindrance.
Early on in my ministry of Intercession the Lord showed me how His Temple was profane by the presence of unbelievers. He likened it to the church bringing sinners into His sanctuary, even to get them saved. The presence of sin blocks the flow of the Holy Spirit anointing.
Jesus brought salvation to those outside the Temple. Evangelists should do the same. This was confirmed by Juan Carlos Ortiz who impressed me as a true and refreshingly different man of God.
A famous evangelist came to preach at Pastor Ortiz' church one Sunday. The Pastor knew his flock well and asked if there were any unsaved in the pews. Four people raised their hands. The Pastor called them forward and asked them to follow the Evangelist to another room as those still in the pews did not need an evangelist! The famous evangelist was truly shocked at having such a small group to win to Jesus.
Disobedience is a huge block. When you break God's commandments the anointing is blocked until you repent of that sin and receive forgiveness. If you continue in disobedience it opens a dark door through which many evils enter in.
Jesus said a little bit of leaven leavens the whole lump. Leaven is sin. Just a little sin can contaminate your whole life and affect your family and church. If we are serious about following Jesus we must do our best to be like Him. Holy and sinless.
When the anointing is blocked pastors and prophets have to manufacture their own fleshly brand of anointing to "keep up appearances". This leads to all sorts of strange things being mixed into the truth. Over time these other doctrines become a whole new religion or cult.
Every religion is man-made! Only the Law of Moses and Christianity came directly from God. In Jeremiah 31 v 31: "Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah." He sent John the Baptist as the man who would introduce Israel to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
Many eagerly awaited the the Son of God, and followed Him all their lives. The Pharisees rejected Him, ordered His death, lied about His resurrection, and caused many Jews to miss salvation through the New Covenant in His Blood. The anointing was blocked by the rejection of the Saviour. Therefore to be in God's perfect will you have to follow His Son Jesus Christ, and have a personal relationship with Him.
Any deviation from the simplicity of Christ and our complete surrender to Him will cause a block to the anointing causing more division in the church. We are in the last days and it is vital that the church become united around the central truth of the Lordship of Jesus.
Soulish prayer must be avoided. This is when we pray our will for people without determining God's will for them. In James it says, If we pray according to His will He hears us! So seek His face about every situation before you pray to discover how He wants it handled. This is the danger of prayer chains......every prayer that is prayed in agreement will be answered. It may be necessary to ask God to forgive some of our soulish prayers which may have blocked the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and blocked answers to those prayers.
We can't have the truth according to some pastor or televangelist feathering their own nests or becoming popular speakers. Jesus calls the hirelings or those not appointed by God. The entertainment centres that pass for church nowadays are an abomination to Him. Jesus overthrows them as He did to the tables of the moneylenders in the Temple.
The Temple was supposed to be a house of Prayer. Through prayer our connection to Father God is kept sweet and fresh and anointed. It keeps a strong flow like a swift river and much is accomplished for His Kingdom. However, if we neglect to worship Him in Spirit and in truth He will not hear us which also blocks the anointing. Our Father will not share His glory with another.
A certain form of prayer that does severe damage is the sending forth or commanding angels to do your bidding. We have no authority to do this and the only angels that respond are false angels of light under Satan's control. Those lying spirits turn those false prayers into missions to kill, maim and destroy Christianity.
They opened the door to the abominable Toronto 'Catch the Fire' Blessing which has divided and wounded so many. Jesus said to me so clearly - everywhere those angels go, Toronto is sure to follow. This falseness does not just block the anointing it kills it completely. They call it revival but it is false all the way through and leads to much confusion, tribulation, even death. This is part of the onslaught on the church that has led to the falling away prophesied in the Bible in 1 Thessalonians.
The more willing and obedient we are to the Lord the more He can accomplish through us. The pure anointing flowing through a surrendered heart can touch the whole world. A manufactured substitute of anointing can bring the house down and sow error and terror in many places.
In 2 Corinthians 7 v 17: "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."
We need to thoroughly examine our own lives and places of worship and place all before our Holy King. Ask Him to remove the unclean things from our lives which are stopping the flow of His anointing. Ask Him to unite the church in truth and love and give it proper direction. . Our Father loves us too much to not tell us when we are on the broad way that leads to destruction.
He wants us on the strait and narrow way, the only way, the Jesus way, to life everlasting.
Prayer: Heavenly Father its time for us all to come clean and allow You to remove us from wrong spiritual experiences into Your absolute truth and holiness. Our survival depends on it. We need the full anointing to make it home and to help others who are struggling. Hear our cry today O Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
