Scripture: Daniel 4 v 7: "Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them, but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof."
Acts 16 v 16 - 18: "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour."
Following your Stars; Horoscopes; Astrological Charts and predictions is very common today. Every newspaper and magazine has a daily/weekly/monthly/annual column slavishly read as gospel truth. I knew a person long ago who put these columns together for a large consortium of newspaper groups. She used to just rehash the previous year's horoscopes and mix them for this year. Maybe it's different now.
Before I was saved I was so in need of guidance that I had a copy of Linda Goldman's book of Star Signs. It had advice on everything including what star signs make the best couples for marriage. It had the complete breakdown of the good and bad traits of every star sign. Thankfully, in the year I needed it most I met Jesus and was born again.
In the Book of Daniel in the Bible astrologers are listed together with magicians, Chaldeans, sorcerers and soothsayers. These are involved with witchcraft and black magic. They bring forth curses, deception and lies to confuse the souls of those who seek knowledge from them. It brings people into severe bondage.
Five years after I met Jesus I found myself in a church where the congregation and pastor were full of the Holy Spirit. I started to learn about deliverance not realising I needed it myself. Two ladies finally prayed for me and I was so amazed at the change in me. I was set free. People reacted differently towards me too.
I had a revelation sitting in my car outside a Mall one day. I suddenly knew by a "word of knowledge" that not only astrology was demonic but that each star sign was controlled by a demon and they were the counterfeit rulers Satan used to control man. We each have a birth date so he chose that as a major target to enslave us.
I first prayed to be released from any control my star sign demon had over me. I bound it in the name of Jesus and commanded it to leave. There was a definite release within me. A few minutes later turning off the highway a truck tried to drive into me. The driver yelled at me, What do you think you are doing? As I was in my proper lane and not being reckless I knew this was Satan attacking me. He hated me having this information. He planned to kill me but I was under divine protection.
Its so easy to read your daily horoscope or even plan your life around these predictions, putting your faith in the accuracy of these writings. Those same writings must apply to millions of others who read them and yet hope and important decisions are put in them.
Our God has a personal relationship with each of His children and gives us accurate direct messages for us alone as often as we ask Him. He directs our steps in truth and righteousness; He guides us in life decisions and His desire for us is always good.
God has a plan for each person which starts when we become born again and ready to receive it. His plan differs for each individual and never competes with the daily divination from the stars. He will wait till we are finished with that deception before He gives us His wisdom.
We need to realise that the Zodiac and all that streams from it is under the control of our arch-enemy. He is plotting our total destruction and will always take the line of least resistance with us. His aim is to kill us to keep our souls in his evil kingdom so he can taunt God in hideous ways.
If he kills through suicide, abortion, car accident, plane crash, cancer, smoking, drugs, booze, sexual disease, or any other disease, occult activity, witchcraft or false predictions, he does not care. He achieves his goal. In this world there are only two contenders: our Living God or Satan.
John 10 v 9 - 12: "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep."
Jesus is the door through which we enter eternal life the moment we are born again. The thief is Satan in whom there is no truth. His sole intention concerning us is to steal, kill and destroy.
Jesus came that we might have abundant life. That is not just about finance and bank accounts but about every aspect of life. We were dead in sin but we are alive in righteousness. Alive to experience every good thing God our Father has for us.
Many pastors are hirelings and feel no responsibility for the people in their congregations. As soon as Satan comes prowling among them they flee away as they have no ability to confront him. They barricade themselves in with legalities and self-justification. They probably consult their horoscopes for assistance.
We must choose whom we will serve. And that is where our final destination will be determined. If we choose to follow the sin of the world or even remain neutral we miss heaven forever. If we die unsaved we are lost. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life are safe. They are the disciples of Jesus who are cleansed of sin by His Blood.
So if we want to put our faith in our particular Zodiac sign we had better make sure we know the ultimate destination of Taurus or Gemini and are happy to spend eternity where they are. Its a very dangerous lure into a dark and lonely place.
Satan cannot originate anything Godly so his persuasions are imitations of Heaven. In Revelation 4 we see the 24 elders around the Throne of God. Satan's version of these elders are the 12 Zodiac signs plus the 12 months of the year. As I said, each one of them is is a demonic ruling spirit. Counterfeits of truth in every way. January is in honour of the god Janus, the god of doors. Yet Jesus is our door.
As for me and my house we choose to serve the Lord Jesus Christ who died for us and came back to life to reign forever in a place called Heaven, the home we came from and where we will return. The streets are paved with gold, the city walls made of diamonds and emeralds. There is everlasting joy, no sickness, lame, broken or sorrowful people there. They are all made whole by the love, mercy and power of our Father.
Prayer: Heavenly Father Forgive us if we have entangled ourselves with Zodiac and astrology deceits. We repent and fall out of agreement with every prediction and reject it all forever. Please set us free of the ruling spirit over our star sign.
Your thoughts and ways are higher than ours yet You allow us to have a close fellowship with You. We worship You in Spirit and in truth. Thank You for unfolding Your majestic plan into our finite lives. Let us always know and submit to Your perfect will. In Jesus' name. Amen.
