Like Precious Faith

Scripture: 2 Peter 1 v 1 - 4: "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

The epistle of Peter is written to those who have already obtained like precious faith, or the depth of faith that the apostles had achieved through the fellowship they had for 3 years with Jesus.  They were used to seeing and doing miracles, healings and casting out demons as He taught them to do.

He goes on to say that the divine power of Jesus has also given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.  This includes exceptionally great and precious promises as we are partakers of the divine nature of Jesus, because the corruption through lust has gone from us.

Do we really know what Jesus has done for us?  Do we understand how much more He wants to do for us?  Being a gentleman He waits for us to ask for it.  He waits to see how serious we are about living the life of a believer.

We already have faith, and promises of more to come which seems to depend on godliness.  That means being like God.  Not liked by God, but being able to manifest His nature towards others.  We are partakers of the divine nature, not looking longingly for it as it is already in us.

How should we manifest the nature of Jesus?

Galatians 5 v 22 - 24: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."

Those nine fruits are the pure, divine nature of Jesus, and all together would be called His divine nature.  There are no lusts, greed or corruption in those nine fruit.  You either have nine pure fruit or the opposite of them which would be hate, bitterness, violence, impatience, harshness, evil, unbelief, pride, and uncontrolled rage.

Those last nine describe Satan's nature.  This is our fallen nature aka the old man.  This 'old man' died under the waters of baptism but can sometimes be called back by our flesh still wanting its own way.  If old habits resume and dominate our flesh we need to repent, ask God's forgiveness, be cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.

1 John 1 v 6 - 8: "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

When we are in the light we have godly fellowship with one another.  We share the blessings of Jesus, pray, do Bible study, have Communion, testify of His love for us.  We put aside worldly things and enter in to the presence of the Lord and have a spiritual feast.   If someone is not in the proper light, this type of fellowship is absent.  There is no spiritual freedom, or very little, which tells you there is something amiss.

The Lord wants us to be transparent, without subterfuge, without malice or undermining anyone.  He wants us to love one another as He loves us.  Let us not fool ourselves into thinking we are perfect, we are a work in progress, but the end result will be perfect.

So, those with their head in the sand, its time to come out of your indifference, and be a partakers of the divine love, health, wealth, nature, gifts, faith and everything it contains.  It is our birthright as citizens of the Kingdom of God.  Let's not deny ourselves this legacy as Esau did, when he held it cheaply and exchanged it for a pot of stew.  His twin brother Jacob took his inheritance and became a patriarch of Israel.

Think of yourself as a hosepipe.  It has no life of its own.  It can be hooked up to the tap but it needs someone to open the tap.  It needs someone to control the flow of water, open the nozzle to the right type of spray.  Left without all this the hose behaves like a snake.  A dead snake actually.  Not moving.

The water is the Holy Spirit, the Reservoir is God the Father.  Jesus holds the nozzle and directs the flow of love and ministry.  If there are kinks in the hose, its a blockage interrupting the flow of love, blessings, healing, ministry, gifts and power.  Ask Jesus to remove all blockages and smooth out the hose.

Now let us have some real Holy Ghost fellowship and lift our hands to the Lord for He is gracious and full of mercy.  Share these blogs to enhance the flow from the Prophetic Fire nozzle to wherever the Lord directs.  That makes your hose an extension of mine and together let us glorify the Lord.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, what would we be without Your Word, and all its precious treasures!  Thank You for the inspiration today, Lord God.  May all who read be blessed with like precious faith to go forth and do exploits.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
