Scripture: Proverbs 31v10-31.
King Solomon was a wise man and he studied the women
around him over many years to make these lovely observations known.
How wonderful when a woman has her children call her
blessed and her husband praises her. I met a Christian woman this weekend who
adopted a daughter nearly 20 years ago.
Her teenage years created a war zone in the family and they sadly had to
send this girl to live elsewhere. They never stopped praying and recently have
seen wonderful fruit in their daughter. Her love for her mother has fully
blossomed and all the years of pain are over. Our Father hears every prayer.
How delighted Jesus would be if we would see women as
precious and valuable in His eyes and ours. In many parts of this world women
have very poor quality of life and are mistreated.
This passage in Proverbs extols the blessings of virtuous
women. They work diligently to make their lives productive. They are generous
to the needy. Their spiritual clothing is strength and honour and their
husbands can safely trust them. Virtuous women are full of kindness and wisdom.
They are role models to their daughters and a blessing to their sons.
Let us look at women near and far with fresh opinion and
stop all undermining of them. That is the devil's plan - to destroy their
personalities and souls; to oppress them
and cause harm. Let us turn his world upside down by changing the way we
treat other people. Let's start by respecting women and upholding them for
God's richest blessings.
Prayer: Father God You created women to be a helper to
men but You expected them to be loved and cherished by those men. Help us to be
kind and compassionate towards women and value them as You do. In Jesus' name.
